Halo community - what happened?

What has the community come to? Most people on these forums are just being jerks to each other and mainly arguing. We’re all Halo fans, whats all the hostility for?

this is every FPS now, try hards who fight and trash talk while using any OP/cheap weapon/tactic to get easy kills.

All i remember is that you didn’t get 50, your opinion was invalidated and you should kill you’re self while live streaming it.

Oh yeah, the good ol days of Halo 3 lol.

What happened to the community you asked? Nothing at all. It just reflects human behavior, except on the grand scale that only the internet provides. Being anonymous is one hell of a power to abuse.

Not everyone is jerking off each other’s 50 ranks in Halo 3 or bashing you because you are a good player though. It’s the in between players that get the shaft in all this IMO.

I think he’s referring to the forums, not the actual game, all I see now are hate threads with maybe a few threads here and there with something actually important to say to try and contribute to making Halo 4 better.

Exactly what you said :stuck_out_tongue: The forums are such a hostile place and you’re right, there is only a few constructive threads.

As people spend more time on the internet, they feel more entitled for what they personally want. Now to the point where they’re angry and disrespectful to anybody who is not them.

Cause they nothing better to do other than complain on the forums. I’ve been busy, and I wish I’m able to clean things up. Who am I kidding, Halo at this rate, it’s not gonna stop the hate.

I ask myself the same question a lot about gaming communities in general. It seems that when any new game is released that is a sequel to past title the developers are scorned and people act as if they know better than developers. A lot of people just sound butt hurt because they can’t adapt to the changes or are afraid of change in games. On the Gears of War forums people complained about the sawed off shotgun like people complain about the DMR and Boltshot. None of these weapons are bad but they complain anyway. Sadly gaming communities have become so self entitled they see themselves has a higher power than the devs and each other causing almost civil war on the forums against alleged casuals and vets. It really is a shame. Gaming communities were once fun to be around but now they are just a disgrace. I wonder what the developers are thinking when they read their forums. Half the people here sound like twelve year olds and the other half trying to sound intelligence. People have complained about every aspect of Halo 4. I bet in a week we will see people complain about the color of grass in mission 2 or the desert setting of mission 5 (both of which are completely fine).

This is an awesome post. At the same time I notice this just about everywhere on the internet it seems like no one can get along, everyone is an elitist and is better than everyone else. I just don’t get why no one can be nice to each other anymore while sharing the same interests and having a good time. It’s almost like people have something to prove.

Locking this, and here is why:

I understand you’re upset about things like that, but it’s no good calling out the community on it, either.
