Halo follower made a video claiming that the Halo community has finally recovered or at least has started to. I thought that since Youtube comments are basically cancer on steroids I thought it’d be better to get a response from waypoint. As for me I don’t think things are as good has it may seem H5 still sold low but holding a player count like that is very impressive at this point but I think we still have a decent ways to go. What do you guys think of this?
Well, haven’t seen the vid, but we’re still in a bit of a civil war atm, it’s just a sees fire for know.
Jeez people, the game has been free to play, discounted and part of a good bundle over the last few months. MS has given people every reason in the world to try it out. Give it time to see who sticks around. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment when you jump the gun like this.
Any video by halo follower is almost always crude speculation and guessing.
Well the forums are pretty active and we are seeing a lot of “noob” questions coming back. Plus wait times are still almost nonexistent. So things aren’t necessarily doing bad right now
Free for a week… Price cut on the game… Then make WZFF so difficult the new players can’t win … That’s definetly how to grow the fan base…Great strategy
Dunno, still plenty of problems though.

I’m not jumping the gun, but yeah given a few more days or maybe a week player count may drop since free to play is over, but I’ll still say things are going well, not as well has they say in the video but good never the less.

Some people like challenges(Dark Souls for example) and some maps are easier than others Ark being the easiest and Sanctum being the hardest for me at least.

Didn’t realize till now but yeah there are quite a few noob questions floating around lately

You think they should have tuned FF so that noobs would win? When in the history of FF has that been a goal?

COD may have tried it
1- H5 is $30 right now, we had free to play, it was bundled with consoles at a great price point.
2- Weve had the ambiguous claims about H5s population and player retention, we need numbers people.
Outcome: 3/4 Pinocchios. Too many variables that lead us to believe the massive incentive to try the game, coupled with the qualifier laden statements about “monthly active players” and the lack of hard data leads us to believe this could be somewhat close to true, but is very unlikely.

I’d be lying if I didn’t agree that this is a lot of good news for a short amount of time, still think things are going well though.

I work in economics and I’d love to do a detailed analysis on how 343 is faring. Unfortunately, they are very mysterious in their claims, coupled with a lack of hard data. Once hard data is provided we could verify all of these statements, until then I’d advise to ignore them as its pure propo, similar to what we see in the car advertisement industry.

Yeah most companies don’t give hard data when things aren’t going well, then again this hasn’t been going on for long so we might get hard data at some point

Which begs the question: Why not publish data that is flattering? 2 reasons: Their claims are wrong or theyre very misleading and they need the ambiguity.
Stop giving Halo Follower views. I don’t think the population recovered, but it’s probably better than what it was compared to H4.
No way has it recovered. Halo 5’s player count is so low that 343 removed the Halo Reach population counter.
Given his accuracy on things, I’d prefer he’d have said that the halo community was in a bad spot :P.
