I’m afraid that Halo 5 will have low chances of getting a huge community support like Halo 3 or Reach did because with half of the halo community disliking Halo 5 and the hate its slowly rising every moment. Halo 3 had the most community support in any Halo game there is, from Machinima to Arby ‘n’ the Chief. Halo 5 in my opinion, is taking a right direction. 343 added new spartan abilities not to ruin Halo, but wanting to evolve Halo. I think Halo 5 is supposed to have all these next-gen mechanics because that’s the right path to make Halo 5 a awesome next-gen game and I’ll think Bungie will do the same as well if they made Halo 5. People don’t like changes but it’s better if you get use to it. I think I’m one of the only people who wants Halo to evolve with the new abilities. What do you think? Should Halo evolve? Or be like the slow- paced Halo 1, 2 and 3?
Whats wrong with the “older” Power Ups?
Halo does indeed need to evolve, and I’m having more fun with H5 than I have with the past Halo’s save for Reach in a very long time!
Its always been like that with the community. It’s been doing that for five years now.
I don’t think HALF of the community dislike it… I just think those that don’t like it are the vocal minority. That’s how it usually works… The folks who enjoy something are spending more time playing than complaining.
the exact same thing happened when h2 came out.
Whiners on a forum does not a war make. There has always been dissention in the ranks BECAUSE the act of complaining is not merely a matter of feedback. Every forum I’ve ever seen (that attempts to host a discussion between developer and community) quickly becomes a place for rants, soap-boxing, and prophets of doom and dismay given that those points of view are so eminently self-serving. The format of the forum gives them an audience, the nature of the game gives them a stake, and the reflexive nature of human group behavior sets some people off in a blind attempt to secure as much authority as possible via stilted arguments that put the fate of the game in the speaker’s hands (and its host population as well.)
Halo 2 was a failure, Halo 3 was an disgrace, ODST was a sham, Reach was an abomination, Halo 4 was a joke, and surprise surprise Halo 5 is yet more of the same. This isn’t attributable to the axiom “you can’t please everyone” but rather “becoming pleased is not how our species works.” Angst, wrath, and fury have their usefulness as well and it only takes a casual glance at history to show that it has often been convenient to adopt these points of view in order to leverage human sociology.
Of course you have obscured by this tendency genuine comments made that try to assess the problem of “is the game working as best it can” but unfortunately cognition is only a part of the human psyche, and it is wise to try to recognize the other parts when they take precedence in a discussion.
The ones who dislike it most are the old “Pros” and “1337 gamers” who abused exploits like BXB and BXR back in Halo 2 and feel that BR’s and DMR’s need to dominate the weapons-sandbox for this game to be competitive.
1: They really don’t
2: More options to kill can actually = skill
3: Get creative and have vision beyond the silly precision weapons
4: How did we ever buy into the delusion that precision weapons automatically = more skill?
You gotta remember, most of the community that likes halo 5 is playing halo 5 and not dealing with the community

You managed to post three paragraphs and literally contributed nothing to this thread.
Halo 5 so far is the only sequel to be true to the roots, the lore, the universe.

I’ve got a lot of different games and shooters under my belt, I find that people who have once inhabited a “top” sort of position tend to do and say literally anything they can to maintain that position and keep others down. Even if it destroys weapons, play styles, or strategies, they will do it simply because they can, and they often have the developers metaphorical ear because they are the “best” players at the time, and they can often stay that way by employing that strategy.
Back to topic though: Halo 5 stays true to the old Halo MP formula while giving us some innovative new mechanics to toy around with, beautiful new visuals, and making some minor adjustments. So far I’ve found that I can use just about every weapon and combination in the game and still be lethal on the field, and the fact that I often have to switch out weapons means that it might actually be balanced.
This is nothing new. The forums were exactly the same around the time of Halo 4’s prime. Personally though I’m loving Halo 5, and haven’t had this much fun in Halo multiplayer since the Halo 3 days.

TL:DR: People can whine without it meaning anything. Don’t take the comments made about Halo 5 (particularly the extreme ones) at face value.
OP’s premise is skewed, here’s why. That’s discussion. Try it someday.
