If armor coatings were just armor color patterns, that’d be much nicer for players to be creative with. Then there can be a primary/secondary/tertiary color or maybe another for selecting by ourselves. 343 can still make their money selling armor color patterns and unique colors. It’s already hard enough seeing customization with the red and blue highlights applied to everyone, 343 should give gamers some flexibility here.
343 will actually be able to make more money from it because now there are colors and patterns separate from one another. I can’t see myself continuing with this limited customization; color trumps armor pieces in importance of it’s the first thing seen. I see 343 eventually needing to reverse their current mistake in the future, so it’s better to do it now while it’s cheaper, easier, and will retain more players.
Please 343 let us have control over our colors but sell us patterns, textures, decals, etc. It would get people more invested, give more items to put in the battlepass or sell and get people excited to unlock more stuff. Everyone including the studio would benefit from this change. Please 343 reconsider letting players have control over their colors again
I will NOT be buying shaders at all. I refuse, it’s a total rip off. Besides, who cares about the cosmetics? For what? So you can admire yourself at the beginning and possibly end of a match like some narcissist? Or if you repeatedly die throughout a match you can admire your body while waiting for respawn?
I don’t know if you’ve been around for long with 343i at the helm of Halo, but they don’t -Yoink!- care about what players think. They’re reeeaaaally arrogant.
So yeah. Everything you see customization wise is here to stay.
