Halo Combat Evolved won't load, with CE it says an

Nothing even loads for regular Halo PC, and I took down my firewall. When I try Halo Custom Edition multiplayer online, it says an error occurred trying to connect to the Gamespy server. I tried launching update.exe and it said the game is up to date, and it is also a legit CD key and those are the only tips I saw online to fix the Custom Edition Gamespy error. Any idea how to get either of them to work?

Oh, and for Halo CE it also says the computer’s hardware is below the recommended minimum specs for the game, but I pressed continue anyway.

  1. What are your PC specs? You may get this error on modern hardware. Additionally, Halo PC doesn’t like integrated graphics cards so this can also cause the pop-up message or even cause the game to not run correctly.

  2. You need to be on the latest patch to have access to Online Multiplayer. Gamespy was the old provider but their servers for all games are no more. Bungie now host and maintain the online multiplayer as of the latest patch, which you’ll need so it redirects to their servers. The patch you need is 1.10.
