So even when it first came out I was pretty disappointed with what I would describe as a lack of effort on 343’s part, All they really did was slap Halo Reach models over existing infrastructure. I don’t know I feel they could have done much much more, and people forget, like, 343 isn’t this small company that microsoft just found and threw the Halo license at. This studio was specifically made by Microsoft to make halo games, I highly doubt money and time is ever a issue for them. Especially when your back by Microsoft.
I’m 90% sure the anniversary was based on a pc port that some other small company made which 343 then used to strap halo reach models on which is why it’s so buggy and has a lot of issues.
I didn’t think there was any lack of effort. We have the ability to switch between classic and remastered graphics when playing campaign. That is one of the coolest features I’ve ever seen in a video game. As for the multiplayer side of things, it makes since that they remade a few of the maps to include in the Halo Reach multiplayer. Yes, CE was the first game but it didn’t have online multiplayer and it wouldn’t maintain a healthy player population for long. They did a great job and made the right choices. That’s my opinion anyway.

A lot of Halo CEA was outsourced to another company. So essentially what is it? It is a remaster of a PC port by Gearbox software in 2003 that had online networking support ran by Gamespy that was then ported again to the Xbox 360. As a man with CE as my favorite game and tens of thousands of hours logged modding and playing CE, I don’t like it much either. I’m just happy 343i is going back and fixing issues such as shader_transparent_generic, classic HUD, bumpmapping, etc.
