Alright just random idea i had today, if you’ve seen the various youtube videos of people talking about how much infinite warfare and halo have in common, what if the 2 companies are negotiating a merge? wouldn’t that make sense? years in development activision and 343i bringing the 2 stories closer and closer together until halo 6 comes out and the next cod after iw comes out and suddenly its not activision or 343 anymore, its something new entirely. just my halo conspiracy rant of the day…
I’ve been thinking this for years…XD in fact, I started off on the forums suggesting exactly this.
of course, even if the two stories and their canon don’t necessarily contradict each other, Activision and Microsoft are two, completely different companies who are, in all essence, sworn competitors. I’m not sure there would even be a legal way for them to merge the two franchises together. But hey, wishful thinking I guess. But that’s why head canon is permitted on a personal level ;).
Sincerely,

Edit: also, in regards to canon, it has already been established that our history, up until a certain date (presumably 2021), is strict canon to Halo. As such, the Modern warfare series and the Black ops series cannot be canon, as part of their stories are historical fiction. But the technology used in these games (I.e. MW trilogy, World at war, BO1) is canon as it historically existed.
It can can also be argued that certain aspects of all the technology shown in all the other COD games can fit into canon, considering we don’t know much about the technology we as Humanity used in between our time to the Insurrection in the late 25th century.
i cant see them merging at all

The interplanetary war literally exists as a grand total of…three, four pages in Halo Mythos, and scattered words elsewhere in the lore books. So SOME of it might converge…but I doubt with any great meaning.
More than likely, Activision is blalantly stealing old concept art from Bungie that they took with them when they left Microsoft to go work on Destiny.

I only look at the technology utilized in the futuristic COD games and ask myself, “what can be implemented into Halo canon, and what cannot? Are they even realistic and feasible to create? Do they fit the time period, etc?”
Being in a minority who buys the COD games only for the campaigns, the technology presented in the games is very interesting and is one of the many reasons why I buy them. As with any other sci fi game or series.
They won’t be connected before Microsoft buys COD or Activision buys Halo, and that doesn’t probably happen.
They look very similar. The spaceships look exactly like Pelicans ad stuff like that.
Doubt it.
Halo-Koei tecmo connection makes more sense due to Nicole-458.
That will never happen.
There has, is and will always be a degree of split between both communities. It wouldn’t be a wise marketing decision as it would carve both populations interest in keeping with ‘Call of Halo’.
I think CoD is just leeching off of good designs. In terms of it touching sci-fi, it’s doing it because ground based warfare stuck in the 20th/ early 21st century runs dry.

you are probably right, but i dont know if you’ve seen halo follower’s video about the similarities but they are really really closely related on certain design things (that probably just means cod developers can get away with being lazy much easier than others since the churn out the same -Yoink- with new colors every year.
God I hope not
Probably not gonna happen
i dont think it will ever happen and i so hope not. be good to have a halo spin off game about the forerunner-Human war
They are one of the two competing FPS companies. I doubt they’ll merge.
Halo 6: Call of Duty! Now that’s a title I’ll buy.
If they merge im done with Halo!
I hope NOT I want Halo to play more off of it’s emotional and moral aspects and id like for it to stay more interesting than COD. (i have nothing against COD I just can’t pay attention to, what looks like to me, a game with nothing but humans in it)
