Halo COA Graphics

hey guys can anyone tell me if these (new) graphics are along the lines of what they are using on halo 4. in my mind they arnt very good, theres too much light even when its ment to be nighttime aka truth and reconciliation, also the facial graphics look like a mario game. i loved the reach graphics and these are not them even though 343 said they were using them, reach had darkness when it was night and the days were bright but not to bright. in no way am i saying that the story is bad its actually been made better with the terminals but you cant make a game with this big of a following and go backwards on the graphics.

now 343 please dont make another prototype where the video graphics are mind blowing but the in game ones arnt because thats what it looks like you’ve done here, terminals are amazing in game arnt.

i would like to see some bungie staff oversee halo 4 to make sure this doesnt happen on it. if you would like to see an all new mind blowing graphics system like the ones ubisoft use for assassins creed and the ones bioware use on mass effect or bethsedas skyrim engines or another type please let me know about it and most of all let 343 industries know about it.

I thought the in game graphics of Anniversary were great and better than most games.

CEA isn’t run off the Reach engine. Its run off of the Saber 3D engine. Halo 4 has however been confirmed to be running off an amped up version of the Reach Engine.

Halo Anniversary wasn’t even really made by 343i exactly, they just oversaw it. Saber Interactive remastered the campaign using their engine, Certain Affinity made the multiplayer maps, and another company made the terminal videos (wich are just motion graphics, not built using a game engine).

they said its not as sophisticated as the Reach engine.

and to answer your question id love to see Halo 4 use Rage’s or Mass Effect 3’s engine. =)

although truthfully i would LOVE to see it using the graphics engine cross between Rage and Crysis 2! would say Crysis max settings pc graphics engine, but the 360 cant handle that >_>

Yeah, the night vision in TaR actually makes it harder to see with the sniper

This kid would have been trolled way harder on bnet.

OT: I love the graphics in CEA. For being run in a 10 year-old engine, they’re incredible. I dunno how to put this in words, really, but I love the “vastness” feeling of the open spaces (Silent Cartographer and Library come to mind). Reach lacked that epic feeling you’d get from running through places with high ceilings, or looking at the ring-shaped horizon on Halo.

Just my fanboy 2 cents. With what little time I have for video games anymore, this campaign has made me put MW3 and the Anniversary MM playlists down. I definitely thought I’d be spending most of my time playing MM with the new maps rather than the campaign, but I’m hooked.

Reach style had some good things, but I want much grander and slightly clearer lighting. Halo Reach felt like it was painted in mat rather than vinyl.

I voted “All new & mind blowing.”

Mind you… if they could pull off somthing that’s in line with Rage, i’d be well impressed :smiley:

I was tempted to vote for Halo CEA. but its not on the list.
