Halo Classic Slayer (playlist)

Hi dear 343. I would like to play this, in social:

  1. The 15 best small maps from H CE to H3 (forge maps)
  2. A permanent playlist for playing them, with this settings:
  • Game mode: Team Slayer (4vs4)
  • All spartan abilities off (except run) [edit: no run also]
  • Primary Weapon: Halo 2 Battle Rifle; Secondary weapon: Magnum [edit: or Assault Rifle]

The sprint because imho, people today doesn’t accept a gameplay without it. So, only run could be a good compromise for no others abilities.
About the secondary weapon: magnum or assault rifle, imho is not important… It need H2 BR start.

Yes, but have the gunfighter magnum instead of the original one. Other than that, yes!

A classic playlist shouldn’t have sprint. That would defeat the purpose of it being classic IMO

And right now people people aren’t accepting a classic gameplay with Sprint. It defeats the purpose of calling it classic gameplay if it loses the fundamental movement mechanic not present in Halo CE-3.

i prefer no sprint as you guys, i love old gameplay. but i think that 343, and more people also, don’t like it…

Issue is keeping sprint as stated by others defeats the purpose. It’s not really “classic” if it has something in it that still Honds onto the new style. It’s something that would make me just stick to playing team arena or something else cuz I’m not getting anything new out of what you’re wanting to do (plus having the h2br or CE magnum would do the same, they’re awful weapons with their current design. They really have no place in this game at all if you ask me.) the thing about a classic playlist is it should offer something that the older players want, not be something that attracts those who like the newer style. If you want sprint and ability play there’s 20 other playlists.

i think that this playlist, with the best halo old maps, could be great!!

Take away sprint, add classic CTF, KOTH, etc.
Have the secondary be smg.

Bullet magnetism, explosion radius, overpowered autos, and the improvement of certain close range weapon ranges with ads would destroy any attempt at classic play. Please do this!!!

Or at least add some of the most classic halo maps (Guardian, narrows, warlock, pit, ect.) into the game. I know they have pit in action sack but I am talking about ranked playlists as well.

Bullet magnetism: There’s actually less bullet magnetism in halo 5 than halo 2, and an argument could be made that halo 3 has more than halo 5.

Blast radius: This one might be a problem, but really it’s not that big a deal.

OP autos: the autos are useful, not OP. Not having sprint or thrust wouldn’t suddenly make them OP.

You can reduce grenade explosive radius or increase it.

You can do that in customs?

I agree with the spirit of your post OP even if we can quibble over the details, as the others have said if they were gonna do this I’d prefer they just go the whole way and do no Sprint at all.

It seems pretty clear at this point this is never coming for Halo 5, I think. But hopefully our feedback may be taken into account for Halo 6.

Yes. You can also decrease weapon damage, along with movement options.
