Please add a Classic playlist. Game types would be slayer and CTF. This would appeal to the competitive and vintage halo fan. It would draw back supporters who have given up on the game. This would include:
Maps:
Truth
Remastered HCE-H3 maps
Various breakout maps
Possible power weapons:
Sniper
Railgun
Rockets
Shotgun
Halo 1 pistol
Overshield
Camo

Truth would be the only one I would consider putting in the playlist and even then I wouldn’t really want it there.
There is a lockout map that is on point. All the same sightlines, most of the skill jumps work, blue lift and spawns needed a little work when I tested it.
It would be nice to have a classic halo playlist. I think forge maps of the halo 1,2,3 would be best. Along with Halo 2 br
Forge maps would absolutely work. I haven’t had the chance to play a lot of them. But a classic playlist is definitely in need. The maps would need to be smaller as sprint would be removed.

I like the idea except for your map choices. None of them feel like classic (true) Halo except Truth because it’s from H2. There are already amazing developer made remasters of the best HCE/H2 maps in the anniversary editions of HCE and H2 . No offense to the Forge community but if you want a legitimate classic playlist, it should be compromised of actual classic maps.

That’s great if they already have the maps. Again, I haven’t been able to check a lot of forge maps as I work a lot. It’s just very obvious there is a need for this playlist. There is a large enough portion of the Halo population that is older and feels forgotten about that would support this. They play other games as they feel betrayed by the way this game has changed to lower the skill cap over the last 10+ years. Oddly enough these people also have the most money to spend as they have jobs by now.
Yeah there are dev maps ready to go. They would just have to be ported into H5. It’s probably not that simple but the “blue prints” are there. Your right though. The long time veterans of the series certainly have a monetary leg up over the new generation. I for one will be spending my money elsewhere if the downward spiral continues.
Honestly there are so many maps that eventually the community could get a good feel for what works and what doesn’t. Everything is already made, just need someone to make it happen. It they can make a grifball and infection matchmaking playlist, there isn’t a good reason to give what a significant portion of players would prefer to use.
The only reason I see 343 not implementing classic maps is because it will make all there maps look like -Yoink-. The veteran players already see it, but 343 are not goin to give there fanboys a reason to question everything there doing!

There is a classic maps remake thread posted in the community creations forum. It looks like we could get our playlist afterall (fingers crossed).

This classic playlist isn’t trying to say that non-sprint is better than sprint. Sprint has been implemented well in this game. But it would be nice to have a playlist that feels like the classic Halos that the older crowd grew up on. Call it nostalgia
