Halo classes?

What would everybody think about a possible class system in Halo 4 multiplayer? I was upset with the Reach system of classes simply because there wasn’t a whole lot of variety regarding your choice of weapons for the game. It was just a thought that popped into my head and thought I would post it on waypoint and see how the community felt about the idea.

No classes. Halo isn’t a class based game. Everyone starts with the same stuff, and you need to be quick and fight for a better weapon to give yourself an advantage.

Fantastic point…

We know they’re making changes but i don’t think they’ll do something like that.

I want to learn about this perk system!!!

I’d rather just have everyone be on equal footing.

I’m not talkin like Call of duty either im just saying that if one of the options in the loadout menu was a shotgun and a magnum but the perk was armor lock, I would want the ability to put sprint or somethin on it.

For the love of god, no, no, NO.

NO

343i Please do NOT make customizable classes or -Yoink!- like that it would suck!

No no no no no NO !!!1one

I suspect the rumors about functional customization may involve customization of completely new additions to Halo 4 about which we currently have no knowledge. In the video, most of the first-person game views show an old build with basically nothing new on the hud; HOWEVER, one very short clip has A LOT MORE on that hud. Those three little squares on the top right of the screen have actual icons - they don’t appear to be grenades, since there is a frag grenade icon under them - and on the top left there is a huge icon that looks vaguely like binoculars, with text next to it and, curiously, another frag grenade icon under it. All of this may be entirely new additions, and this may be where the customization comes in.

At least, I hope so. People shouldn’t get functional advantages just for playing more. Halo is not an rpg.

NO JUST NO

Hmmmmm, I never thought of it like that. I feel you should have the ability to choose which guns you want in your loadout with the exception of all heavy weapons. (Sniper, fuel rod, rocket launcher, sword, gravity hammer, ect.) Leaving you with small arms only. (DMR, Battle rifle, magnum, ect.)

Thank you for clarifying this. Because when I heard that the first time I was like they better not being making the multiplayer like COD.

It would change the way the game played, for sure. As long as you are not able to put Power Weapons in your classes/loadouts, it would be alright. I’m not saying it would be good, I’m saying it would be alright.

To be perfectly honest, they wont. I watched a video on the home page of 343 talking about now that they’ve adopted the Halo franchise from Bungie, that they will keep most of Halo the same via the story line and the general multiplayer environment. If it turns out to be a class based game I’m gonna throw myself off a ledge. However I STRONGLY agree with the statement about fighting for a weapon to give that wanted advantage.

I don’t play class based shooters. What do you think?

Hah, I’m assuming then you don’t agree?

> NO JUST NO

this…

This is a huge mistake they are gonna ruin the competition in halo and i dont want a playlist for no perks i want to be able to play everything without this B.S.

how old is this post? didn’t they already CONFIRM classes? It looks like most people in this thread will be unhappy, including someone who is going to throw them self off a ledge now.
