Halo Channel Un-official Defunct Thread

Halo Channel is defunct to me.
Every time I try to launch Halo: Nightfall from within Halo: The Master Chief Collection,
Halo Channel tells me that I have yet to BUY HALO.

It’s almost as if Kiki Wolfkill is begging for more money…

I see no purpose in the rest of the Halo Channel.
Some of the tabs,
such as MUSIC,
are completely outdated.

Because I activated Terminal 10 on The Maw,
Halo Channel will try to play Terminal 10 every time it launches.
The controls for Halo Channel are unnatural,
and neglect the B button as a method to revert to the “guide”.
Switching between tabs is even more distressful.

I know that Halo: The Master Chief Collection was launched in a pretty rough state,
but trust me,
Halo Channel is even worse.

If this is any clue as to how the File Browser launch will be…
If the File Browser is anything like Halo 4’s…
REFUND.

Have you activated the 5x5 code that comes packaged in the MCC disc case?

I activated the code, and my Halo Channel is still broken. Where is 343 on this?

We continue to investigate issues as we find them reported within the forums. Have you seen, and tried the following steps that were suggested previously?

  1. Quit the Halo Channel app (go to dashboard > find Halo Channel tile > press Menu button > press Quit)

  2. If you purchased a physical copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, please ensure that you’re signed in as the user who redeemed the Halo Nightfall 25 character code. If you purchased the game digitally, please ensure you’re signed in with the account the game was purchased with.

  3. Please ensure that there are no guests signed in. There’s a currently a bug that doesn’t allow viewers to watch Halo Nightfall if a guest is signed in. We are currently working to resolve this bug.

  4. Finally, if you have a capture card plugged into your Xbox One, you will not be able to watch Halo Nightfall for DRM reasons.

  5. Launch Halo Channel and the issue should be resolved.

Please let us know if these steps resolve the issue.

I wish the Halo Channel didn’t try to multitask. If I navigate to the guide when a video is playing the guide goes into huge slowdown and then goes crazy for a minute. Slow down is horrible. I’m not sure why there is a love of navigation in apps via huge pictures and click, now scroll right, now down, now right. Would it be so horrible to click Spartan Ops videos, then a list show of all the eps with a brief ep description. It could all fit on the screen.

Clicking on the ep should play it. Then if its not done playing then have a resume button. Click on the ep name to play, or resume. very very simple.

I’d rather have all items I can go to listed on the screen rather then this constant scrolling I have to do. It’s like having a phone which only allows one app per page. So if you have 50 apps then you have to scroll through 50 screens to find one thing.

it would be very cool for the halo channel to look and be setup to operate like a UNSC or Superintendent terminal.
