Yesterday, I bought and install the Halo MCC from disc, and started playing the campaign whilst the 15GB update was installing in the background.
Today, I have checked, and the update has finished installing, so I went to watch the first episode of Nightfall - yet the Halo Channel says I need to buy the Master Cheif Collection. I have tried to access the video from both the Halo Channel Direct, and then launching the game, and selecting it from Extras but I still get the same message.
I have done a hard reset 3 times to clear the cache on the Xbox but this has not made a difference. I can play the game (granted I’ve not tried MP yet), and I can play other games on XBL, so I don’t understand why I can’t watch the video. I don’t want to click on the Buy button either.
If anyone has any ideas/help they could provide.

If your list of DL’s shows that the far right one the Multi/Extra area is still downloading then you wont be able to watch Nightfall till then until its finished.
Thanks for the quick reply - nothing showing left to download. I’ve also checked in my apps setting, and the only update I have pending is for Project Spark.

You are not the only one have thus issuse i am aswell. There is a topic under the nightfall forum with a load of other people having this issuse but no one has responded to us. Its really frustrating because the main thung that tempted me to buy this early was to watch nightfall. Pre ordered it through xbox downloads and it all says installed. However "halo channel says you must buy the game??? Acknowledgement of the issue would be a start 343!
If you have the disc version, there are 3 cards in your box:
- Xbox Live Gold Trial for 2 days
- Sunset Overdrive / Halo 5 Guardians Multiplayer beta
- Halo Nightfall
The Halo Nightfall card will have a QR code to use if you have a Kinect (one of the best uses for Kinect!!!). Or a 25-digit code if you’re manually typing it.
once you register the code, you have to make sure you have quit and reloaded the Halo Channel app. this refreshes the app to recognize the license you inputted. if you don’t know how to quit an app, go to the dashboard, highlight the halo channel app in the big tile, then hit the menu button on the controller, then choose quit.

Mine was a digital download. …?? I dont have a QC code
I am having the same issue. I bout the MCC digital and watched Nightfall on Day One. Now when I launch the Halo Channel it is telling me to buy the MCC so I cannot watch it again.
