HALO CHANNEL NOT WORKING 343 PLEASE ANSWER!

Every time I try to watch Halo Nightfall or any of the halo terminals it starts to play the video and then skips to a different one. been like this for almost a month now, other people having similar issues, please fix it!

This sounds like the issues people with capture cards were having. If you have a capture card connected, you’ll need to remove it to watch Nightfall. It will be DRM kicking in to stop it being recorded. If that doesn’t help, try the troubleshooting steps outlined here by the Forum team.

I dont have a capture card connected, and i have tried that and it does the same thing. :frowning:

Are you watching on Xbox One or Windows 8.1 ? What is your internet connect and speed? I noted you said you do not have a capture card, which causes this issue (Capture cards cause the app to not play protected videos for obvious reasons) but are you connected directly from your video source (Xbox or Windows) directly to your monitor/TV?

I am trying to gather info on this issue so we can determine the root cause and work to correct the problem. Please feel free to send me a message if you prefer.

I am watching on xbox, its not direct to the monitor though, i am using a adapter as the monitor does not have hdmi

Im having a similar problem. While watching nightfall episodes it will just randomly skip to a different video. It happens 2 or 3 times an episode. No capture card, direct HDMI from xbone to monitor.

One more question as I dig deeper… is your Xbone on Wifi or does it use a cable from a router/switch? Do you happen to know the speed of your wifi/router and the speed of your internet? Are you on a service that has an initial burst that is high, then slows down over time?

Just trying to narrow down issues that could be problematic, and while I haven’t been able to reproduce this yet, I want to make sure I can try to reproduce this as authentically as possible so we can figure it out!

Same problem. It started two days ago and now its even harder to ceiw anything on the Halo Channel.

Had it been working properly before?
When the video fails, do you get to see any of the Nightfall episode, or does it show the ‘bumper’, then black, then new ‘bumper’ that identifies the next video, without showing any of the Nightfall episode?

Is this across all Nightfall or just select Nightfall?

Again, just trying to gather enough info to try to reproduce this so we can work on it!

One more round of questions, particularly for Tw1lley:
Is your MCC physical (discs) or digital? If physical, have you entered your 5x5 code found on a card within the disc case?
Can you message me, or post your gamertag (some forum names and gamertags are not matched, so we always have to ask… )
If you have Windows 8.1, have you tried watching from Halo Channel on Windows?
Are you, or have you ever tried to play a rented video from Xbox Video?

Anyone that is having issues with playback, if you can also provide any feedback, that would be amazing. We are heavily invested in researching and fixing this issue.

I am using a cable. Im not exactly sure about the the speed but it is fast and have no problems with it,

My copy is physical, i have entered the code and TW1LLEY is my Gamertag. I don’t have Windows 8. never tried to rent a game from there

I was able to verify that you have the correct bits to enable watching Nightfall, etc… we are continuing to investigate this issue, and just wanted you to know we are doing so.
