I want to get back into Halo multiplayer last game I had was Halo 3 and xbox took a dump on me. So im not sure which to buy I’ve been searching for a clear answer to this question but nothing comes up.
I don’t own Reach so does Anniversary have all of Reach multiplayer, if not should I get Reach or CEA?
CEA only comes with the 7 new maps, and not the full reach experience like what they did with odst.
Apparently the 7 new maps WILL be available for purchase but who knows when that’ll be. If I were you i’d pick up a used copy of reach, and then just buy CEA
When you buy Halo CEA, you will not only get the new multiplayer maps, but the remastered campaign and complete Reach multiplayer experience. And correct me if i’m wrong, anyone who knows the release date, but I do believe that the DLC will be available over Xbox Live the day CEA is released. If you want the game just for the multiplayer, then buy CEA. If you want to be able to play the Reach campaign AND the CEA campaign, then you should buy both games. But just to be clear buy CEA (or the DLC in the marketplace) if you only want to play the complete multiplayer with new maps as well as the remastered campaign. Hope that helps!
Ok, sorry for confusing you further! Let me put it simply… If you buy Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, you will be able to play Halo Reach’s multiplayer on the disk. Kind of like how ODST worked. The benefit of buying CEA is getting the new maps that come with it. If you decide not to buy CEA, then you can buy the new maps as a map pack. Better?
annyversary has 7 new maps (they will also be DLC for reach players) and reach defoult maps will only be available to those who own reach (and installed the game in their hardrives) and those who buy the DLC (god knows when it will come out).
if you want reach maps you could try to ask a friend who has reach and install the game in your hard drive, not sure if it will work

This seems to be the answer across the boards, thanks for clearing it up. I wonder if that reach trick will work.

No, no no. Installing Reach on you harddrive will not give you access to the original maps from the CEA disc. The only thing installing a disc to the HDD does is make the game run faster.
Halo Anniversary will come with the seven new maps, and that’s it. If you have the Noble and Defiant Map packs, you’ll have access to those too, but not the original maps.
In addition, CEA will have a code to download the Anniversary Map Pack, allowing you to access all the maps from the Reach disc.
