Halo: cea sound question

Okay, hello people.
So we all know that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary has new sounds and everything. However, when I first got the game the day it came out, something felt very weird. The sounds don’t sound any different whether I’m playing in the regular Halo: CE graphics or the new ones!
So did 343 do this on purpose, or just were too lazy or was it an accident? I don’t really care, but I’m pretty curious about what happened.

There was never any indication that CEA would contain any aspects of the old sound layer besides the music (and the dialogue). It would have been one more technical hurdle that probably wouldn’t even be facilitated by the space on the disc.
It’s not even just an issue of swapping sounds out; the original game uses a totally different sound environment system.

In any case, classic mode’s graphics also look extremely boring compared with the original game. Even the 360 emulator for Halo 1 is sort of sloppy. If you still have an oXbox, I’d recommend playing CE on that if you want the classic experience, especially if you also still have a CRT TV sitting around.
