Halo CEA needs 4 player co-op!!!

I heard rumors that 343i kept Halo CE at a 2 player co-op.

I was really hoping that was no true.

I mean, I am sure 343i can push the technical limits and allow 4 players like every other Halo game.

It’s two players at maximum.

> It’s two players at maximum.

Are you kidding me?

That sucks, I was hoping 343i would make a 4 player campaign experience.

Sorry my friend the game was never made with 4 co-op 10 years ago so to add it now would change the game play of the update game.

That is what 343i is doing.

Heck, they are changing the gameplay of the game now by adding a skull.

There were never skulls in Halo CE.

I am dissapointed 343i couldn’t make Halo CEA 4 players.

I mean really?

Maybe Skulls are easier to add than 4-player Co-Op?

> Maybe Skulls are easier to add than 4-player Co-Op?

That might be but for a re-make, the game SHOULD be 4 player co-op.

343i has several months to add it.

I am sure the new engine they made for Halo CEA can support 4 players.

skulls are a lot differnt than adding four player co-op

they want the game to feel like the original and want you to play it like the original, skulls are optional and change difficulty but not the feel of the game.

adding four player would mean they would have to add in more AI to appear when you do four player which would change how the levels are made which is exactly what they dont want to do

That does not mean you have to add more Ai at all.

343i is already adding Terminals that weren’t in the original game, skulls that weren’t in the original game.

I think for a remake, it would be nice to play with more people.

While 4 players would be nice, the gameplay engine was only designed for 2 player co-op, you should be thankful that it’s at least co-op online now. And 343 doesn’t have several months to work on it. The game is set to be released on November 15th, they need to be gold 2 to 3 months before that so they can start to manufacture copies and distribute them to retailers.

Yeah, I happy to finally have online play.

I was just hoping of 343i would of pushed the engine to have 4 players.

I mean, they are re-making the game, have already added more features to the game.

I don’t know, I always wanted to play Halo CE with 4 players.

It was only 2 players becuase you had to of played co-op on LAN or on the same T.V, now we don’t have that problem.

In addition to the technical hurdles of doubling the co-op player count for a 10-year old game, adding 2 more players to co-op would simply unbalance the campaign experience of CE.

It wouldn’t be the game you remember, and would go against our internal mandate to keep this game as consistent with the original CE as possible.

I hear you and agree, but there are certain things that would kinda break gameplay for me. For example, one person with a pistol is already pretty destructive on their own, and two that know what they are doing can destroy anything the AI can throw at them. If it was 4 people I’m sure even Legendary would be a cake walk. There would also be a small issue with transportation, as the Warthog only seats 3. They might have been able to fix this by adding an extra Pelican to drop off an extra Warthog but I think it would be too late at this point as it would involve messing with the coding, and possibly some animation work along with it.

I was just hoping for 4 player co-op.

But, if there are too many technical problems, I can understand.

And seeing what people said as one warthog might be dropped off, etc 4 player co-op might be bad for some missions.

I <3 the fact that I will be able to play Halo CE on live and I don’t need to invite people over to play co-op.

Thank you for clarifying.

I am looking forward for Halo CEA to come out.

the only new engine is for graphics, not new netcode.

You’ve always got party chat for that

If people can do it for Fall out, I can do it with Halo CEA.

But, I can see now how adding 4 players would cause some issues.
