Halo CEA’s “Dear Diary…” achievement requires that the player access all terminals in the game. I have done this multiple times, but the achievement will not unlock (GT: conejon11). The weird part is that all the terminal videos are accessible from the game menu, which is evidence that I have accessed them all. I believe the problem was due to having transferred save files between Xboxes and having played part of the campaign offline and part online. The save seems to be corrupted in some way that keeps the achievement from unlocking when it should. I have already tried these common recommendations more than once, so please don’t ask me to try them.
Accessed all terminals multiple times (used a guide to be sure I didn’t miss any)
Deleted profile and save data from console. Cleared cache. Recovered profile. Accessed all terminals again.
I’ve been trying to get this problem resolved for more than 2 years now. 343 has largely ignored me. I’d appreciate actually getting a solution to this problem rather than being brushed aside.
Have you attempted to license transfer your information to the main Xbox that you use? This may be part of the issue.
Also, have you watched through each video in the Campaign ENTIRELY? As in, did you ensure that the video ended itself instead of pressing the “B” button to prematurely end the video?
I’m not sure how a license transfer is relevant since it’s a disc-based game. Anyway, all of my licenses are on my primary Xbox.
I didn’t watch through each video in the campaign entirely, but that isn’t required to make the achievement unlock. I’ve done it myself on other profiles without having to watch the video all the way through, and many other people I’ve talked to regarding the issue have been able to do it as well without watching the videos.

Still, I recommend trying the fixes I have suggested, even if they don’t seem likely to work. You never really know.
> I don’t think this is a simple fix Cizlin. Fiasco has been asking about this one for a long, long time and I only wish I could make it work for him.
I agree, snickerdoodle. I honestly don’t know what will fix it for him, so I’m trying to guide him to try what he hasn’t yet, to see if it works. If it doesn’t, I’ll see what my fellow Engineer and 343 have to say about it.
The thing is, it’s a major time investment to go back through all the levels and hit all the terminals again, especially if I’m watching the video all the way through. Since I already know that’s not required to get the achievement (and I probably tried it already, though I can’t recall for certain), it seems like a major waste of time.
Somehow, between transferring saves between consoles and playing partly offline and partly online, the save tied to my profile (conejon11) “thinks” that the achievement is already unlocked. Since there’s no way to delete what’s saved to the profile, there’s no way to reset the flag to make the achievement pop. This really can only be fixed by 343.

REDACTED. i would link you to it, but ive been warned that any other sites trying to help and inform people about glitches in 343 games will result in a ban
it may take some trying, but you’ll know its worked if you reset your progress in game (levels will be locked etc. etc.)
obviously you will have to play through the whole game again, but you’ll have the achievement.
I don’t know if this will work, but it might. Personally, I would try signing out of XBL, deleting the console save, playing through the entire game, and finding all terminals while offline. It seems as though this may be a server-side error, and removing the server from the equation could fix it for you. This fix is somewhat similar to the fix found for Halo: Spartan Assault which disconnects from the server to remove faulty information.
EDIT: Nevermind, DerEnglaenderA’s method is against the terms of service and forum rules. Please try the method above, and I’ll help you the best I can.
I really hope this works, for your sake and for those who few suffer from this achievement alongside you.

According to the original post, the affected individual has already attempted to clear the cache, and it has not worked.
No matter how innocent, helpful, etc it may be it is against the rules on Waypoint and the Terms of Service, which you agreed on when making your Xbox Live account, to modify content.

I’ve already tried this before. It didn’t work. As I mentioned above, the game saves information to your profile, and the flag for this achievement has already been set without popping the achievement, so now it won’t go.
DerEnglaenderA, I appreciate your help, but please don’t derail this topic. This is the closest I’ve come to an actual dialogue with a 343 representative on the subject. I didn’t get to see what you suggested before it was modded, so if you could PM it to me or message me a link via XBL or something, that would be great.
If you modified your account to get some armor(FOTUS for example) or changed your service tag through a program to have it to something that is blocked by Xbox Live then yes.
If you are modifying the games files using some sort of third party program with your computer then that falls under that rule. You won’t find a loophole with what you are trying to do.

This sounds more like an issue with your profile than an issue with the game itself. If this is true, then I may not be of much help, and neither may 343i. Have you attempted to contact XBL support? They may be able to help.

It absolutely is an issue with both my profile and the game. The game saves information to the profile, making it impossible to reset statistics by simply deleting game data and playing offline.
I have contacted Xbox support numerous times. They’re clueless, and the best they can do is refer me to 343, who, of course, have no decent customer support system, relying instead on a forum which they apparently rarely look at (if ever). 343 needs to adjust the way the game checks for completion of the achievement requirements. My best guess is that the data saved to my profile shows the achievement having already been unlocked, which is why it won’t unlock now.
DerEnglaenderA, I started following that thread a couple weeks ago. I was actually linked to it from feedback.xbox.com, and that’s what got me thinking about this issue again and drove me to post about it. Was there a particular part of that thread you wanted me to see, or was it just an example of 343’s perceived apathy toward fixing achievement glitches?
