Halo CEA 2 player co-op

To be honest, I’m quite disappointed that I can’t experience the campaign with a squad of my friends, and that it’s 2011 and we’re going back to 2004 ways in terms of Halo. Why not just make it 4 player co-op? It would be a major selling point because it would be a large step in comparison to just single-player/split-screen. It’s literately no different to the original at all, I understand the revamped graphics, and sound and the “button” as well as tacky Reach multiplayer, but you couldn’t add the aspect of what made Halo 3/Reach, minus the terrible networking, great?

343i you’re not on a good foot to be honest.

The reason we cant have full game of 4 player co-op on CEA is because 343 is not tryin change up the coding for what the original CE was like. Unless you have been paying attention to what 343 has bein doing for Halo: CEA all this time, there realy is nothing to worry about since this is just a Graphics update, not a system update or anything in particular in the campaign experiance.

Be happy you even got 2, it is not possible to add the spawns ect to it since it is the original engine, before going on about something like this take the time to understand how it works.

> Be happy you even got 2, it is not possible to add the spawns ect to it since it is the original engine, before going on about something like this take the time to understand how it works.

It very much is possible to add more spawns, in fact they added another spawning sequence to the beginning intro to Master Chief coming out of cryosleep. Regardless this isn’t a matter of understanding how it works, they have a huge developer library on their side, as well as the original Engine to work on, I’m fine with the important aspect of not changing the game in a huge degree, but it’s my subjective view on adding 2 more players that it wouldn’t alter it much.

I’m far from happy from this, and I won’t be. I’ll enjoy the game, but it could have been much more, or at least “up to the standards of a modern game from 2011” 343i, paraphrased.

Ok im trying my best not to flame the- well im trying not to flame you… but… the reason they couldnt add more than 2 player co-op is because they states they changed nothing on coding for the game at all, all they did was add a layer of graphics over the original engine. They left the the original engine 100% untouched. And for the extra cyro tube, thats just a visual for co-op. Just be happy their doing this AND selling the game at $40. Just because they didnt have 4 player your going to complain? Some of you people have no appreciation. Be grateful they even decided to do this.

Business is not a respect gaining attribute especially a product albeit fan service. I’m glad that they did what they’re doing, but you’re acting like…

“I’m supposed to automatically denounce any flaw they happened to bestow upon us just because it’s a fan service.” That’s some bad logic, and I wouldn’t use that in any real life situation because it would get me, the player, and them, the developer no where.

There is no flaw to this title, as they stated its just revisualized. As a remake, its perfect. And with that they are respecting the original feel and experience of the campaign.

And I’m fine with that, I really am, but they already made a statement on how it still feels like a 2011 game, when in reality a 4 player co-op campaign should be minimum requirement, personally that’s me, but this is 2011 it’s very well possible.

Denying the obvious flaw that people for 4 years now have been used to 4 player co-op in Halo titles is only aiding the aspect of 343i underestimate a good standard for their video-games if their community is already creating justifications for something like this.

Don’t even get me started on why they didn’t add Theater… which was a terrible mistake, in my opinion.

Firstly like what all the other people have said about leaving the original game code and just putting a new graphics overlay, secondly in the original 2001 game there was always two cryo-tubes.

Play the game before you comment dude, 343 couldn’t add 2 more players because they wanted to keep the game original and they didn’t have the time/resources to put 2 more players in, otherwise 343 could of put in the original halo 1 multiplayer instead of using Reach’s multiplayer (they didn’t want to split the fan-base.)

But you have to remember this isnt a 2011 Gen game, its a 2001 game. Its a remake. I bet if they used the reach engine or something new, Im sure they would have added 4 player co-op. The only reason they remade this game was because of demand. Plus its not a fully priced game.

That excuse is getting really irrelevant to my point to be honest, I understand that aspect, but their contradicting statements, as well as ignoring standards for respect of the game series, and not the community is sad.

I don’t need to play the game to know what it’s about, and it’s a remake I have played the game already. And no there was no second cyrotube, only ones surrounding it, but not right there.

Time and resources? Do you know how easy it is to spawn players in a world that’s already created? It would literately take less than a week. Sure making it fancy is one thing, but look how Bungie did it with Halo 3 when you were the 2 elites.

Your the only one I see actually complaining about this. Its not really a standard, its also a bit of a technical issue. And like I said before, the second cyro tube is just a visual put on with the new graphics layer, has nothing to do with the engine at all.

Dude, play co-op for halo 1 and you will see that 2nd cryo-tube and coding a game is really hard i know this because i’m studying computer science at university and don’t say anything about talented developers and such, they don’t have time, they are also making halo 4 you know, bungie had 2/3 years to make halo 3 so of course they can do it. 343 has set a deadline for Halo Anniversary because it is an anniversary which wouldn’t seem right if they delayed it…

Read man. THEY want the ORIGINAL code. 4 player co-op can not exist if they want the original experience.

EDIT: And everyone above:

there is a 2nd cryo tube in the original game when you play co op:

3 minutes and 25 seconds…

I’m an Independent video-game designer and I’m in progress of making my own video-game that’s going to be potentially on Steam, so I have my fair share of experience as well, and when it comes to spawning entities it’s not hard at all. By the way computer science doesn’t really cover what we’re talking about.

They have the time, since it takes no time, and we’re talking about making spawns, not developing a full fledged game.

Ok guys this ones a lost cause, we tried but hes way to stubborn to realize that the goal they had was just to remake the halo CE feel %100. They did it for the nostalgic legacy. Not for a business plan. If they added that it would take away the feel.

Umm dude try look at my link for CO OP, your one is just single player, of course its only one cryo tube.

Dude your an idiot.
“I’m an Independent video-game designer and I’m in progress of making my own video-game that’s going to be potentially on Steam”
LOL don’t make us laugh.

“when it comes to spawning entities it’s not hard at all” - You have to change the code. Then balance out outliers and potential lurking variables. Also deal with bugs. Obviously it would be easy to add an additional 2 playable players but 343 specially stated that they want the original code and experiences; also to add 2 more players they have to change the entire code (campaign) to support all the physics and coding eg: Spawns, difficultly, cut-scene integration etc.
To take into consideration is the frame-rate and if the engine can handle it. However they’ve already said THEY WANT TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL CODE

THANK YOU! My point exactly!! How can we make this more clearer!?

Nothing like four Master Chiefs killing baddies

The covenant would be in for a huge surprise :stuck_out_tongue:
