Which did you find to have the better multiplayer experience overall?
Halo 2, if only for the maps. Nearly every single one of them was perfect.
I preffer Halo CE multiplayer but I enjoy both.
Halo CE was good, had some really ridiculous 16 Man LANs and a lot of fun.
Halo 2 in my eyes was better for competitive play and it really gave you a sense of community.
H2 because It had LIVE and like the dude said, all of the maps were decent and fun to play.
I hope you dont mean Halo 2 pre-patch LOL. But I would have to say HCE>Halo 2 gameplay and campaign but Halo 2> HCE for overall fun factor and experience due to online gameplay, glitches,custom games, clan system.

due you ar ecomparing apples to oranges. CE is what halo should aspire to be, while H2 was what halo has to be to work online given the slow USA internet (melee lunge, bullet magnetism, no leading shots etc.
When USA get Sout Korea internet then we can all play CE style.

But Halo 2 is probably the best multiplayer experience I’ve ever had, if only for the fact of LIVE and literally every one of my friends got LIVE just for it.

Hey now, the Campaign was great. Very interesting plot, beautiful music, wonderful level design, great weapons, cool enemies, and awesome glitches.
Halo 2 for Xbox Live and more and better multiplayer maps.

H:CE. Because H2 was either a dual-wielding spray fest, or abusing the massive bullet magnetism for sweep-sniping and making it easy to get 4SKs with the BR. The only thing that’s actually better in H2 are some of the maps; Headlong, Turf, Containment, Lockout, Midship, Waterworks, and so on.

Halo 3, probably the only reason everyone thinks Halo CE and 2 are the best is merely because it’s the first Halo game they played, lol at anyone who says “ahh the good old days of halo 1 and 2”

People have good reasons to like the older ones better. They were much more fast paced which many people enjoyed. Halo Combat Evolved had a much better campain than Halo 3 too. I played Halo 3 first, and even though I can’t go online on the first two games, I have 10 times more fun. Most of the people I know liked Halo 3 better but I can tell that they didn’t put much thought besides graphics into their decisions. Equipment was also a problem as it took away from the competetiveness of the game and led to people doing things like camping in bubble shields. But the main reason why many people liked the older games better though was that they were more fast paced and less boring. Halo 3 is considered by many one of the worst games in the series but I personally think that it is still a solid game, just not as good as the old ones.
