Looking back at the Steam release for Halo Wars, I’m curious to see how many would go back and buy a Steam release of some of the older games (CE-3), mainly just CE (not anniversary) with MP support.
Personally, I’d gladly go back and buy some of the older games to have on PC. What are your thoughts on the matter?
I’m no PC gamer nor do I play on a computer but I’m fairly sure you can still play CE and 2 on PC. I think it’s only 3 onwards which you must play on Xbox.

CE and 2 were released for PC, but not on Steam, and there’s no way to legally obtain copies at this time as far as I’m aware.
But the main point would be a Steam release, making the games much more accessible for people to find, buy, and play than through the Microsoft store (which I’ve only suffered through for Halo Wars 2).
Halo Wars sold really well like this, and it was a spin-off console RTS that was almost a decade old at the time, and I believe it sold half a million copies. The demand is certainly there.

Yeah that’s a fair point. Steam would be a cool way for newer PC players to experience a couple of classics. I had a look and Amazon has a new copy of Halo 2 Vista on sale… for nearly $100 lol. Everything else for both games is used, so those keys might not work.

Yep, saw a used copy for CE that was going for $600 used, I’d rather not lol

Jeez. I get that the game is sacred and should be treated with respect, but it’s not gold haha.
343 are missing out on income by not releasing halo ce and 2 on steam, windows vista is for lack of a better word forgotten, and since the games came with one time activation codes, your only choice if youre a pc gamer who plays halo is to pirate the games.
Either 343 makes it accesable to nostalgic pc players or continues to force us to break the law to play our favourite games on a better platform.
I got Halo 1 and 2 PC on disc and legit copes from back in the 2000’s. Too bad I wasn’t thinking when I was trying to save money by thinking that I didn’t need an optical drive when I purchased my HP Omen 880.
