So, this is the single issue that has been bothering me about Halo MCC since launch in 2014. And its ever more bothersome now that I am playing the game on PC, at 144fps.
So, basically the problem is this: Animations of many projectiles in Combat Evolved are only running at 30fps. 343 did a great job adding animation interpolation to much of the game’s animations, so we aren’t playing at a choppy 30fps. However, they neglected to implement such interpolation for projectiles, including, but not limited to: Plasma pistol (both charged, and regular) plasma rifle, Fuel rod/banshee bomb, shade turret, rocket launcher, and ghost/banshee guns. All of these slower-moving projectiles only run at 30fps and because they are projectiles, the framerate at which they move at is very important to gameplay.
I have used halo support a lot, and it has proven helpful several times, but with this issue, they have been completely useless. My first ticket regarding this issue was blown off, telling me to check the Development update, that supposedly addressed this issue, and many others, (which it didn’t), so I re-opened the ticket. That was 5 months ago, and they still haven’t responded to this ticket since.
I have recently submitted another ticket regarding the issue, and I was blown off again. This time, they told me “We welcome feedback like this and have greater structure for accepting and responding to this type of feedback at https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums.”
Note the use of the word “feedback”, rather than “issue”. This is undeniably an issue, and it ruins my experience of combat evolved very much, way more than many animations on Halo 2, 3, and Reach (mounted plasma turrets) being still locked at 60fps.
Well, I’ve started several threads here regarding the issue, and the issue still hasn’t been even acknowledged.
Anyways, they told me that I should submit the “feedback” in the forums, so here I am. Is anyone legitimately going to address this?
