So I have recently got a hard drive for my Xbox 360 slim, 120 gbs
I just so happen to also have halo ce from the Xbox live store
I went to try and play the game and I immediately get a prompt pretty much saying to re-download it and try again, so I do so and it still didn’t work.
Any solutions to this problem will be helpful.
NOTE: I do have a original Xbox but not a disc copy of the game
Also it’s a Microsoft official hard drive

That’s not original microsoft HDD. Original have “Xbox 360” mark on it, like this https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/96/Xbox-360-S-250GB-HD.jpg
This kind of HDD don’t have original Xbox emulator files. So - games for original Xbox don’t work. Maybe that’s a reason.

I have a friend who has the same one and it worked, I do have the old Xbox 360 model but I don’t have the attachment for Xbox live. It might red ring soon too so I might try to take apart that hard drive and move it into the slim to see if it works

You can ask your frend to give you his HDD for testing Halo CE and see - is that HDD fault or something else. Or you can bring your HDD to him and use Halo CE on his console.
