Does anyone know if there are any plans in the future to just release Halo CE over XBL? No new graphics, no REACH engine, no ANYTHING, except just the ORIGINAL multiplayer over XBL? Downloadable content even (it doesn’t have to be a disc), but all I’m looking for is an unaltered, non-contaminated version of Halo CE over XBL. If anyone can lead me to an article or whatever I would greatly appreciate it!
I highly doubt it. People were asking for Halo 2’s multiplayer to be released on Xbox Live also.
The reason you’ll never see Combat Evolved’s multiplayer over XBL is because it wasn’t coded to handle anything less than a system link connection.
Ever notice how badly Firefight and Campaign can lag at times? Now, imagine that lag in slayer and CTF, at all times.
That upsets me beyond belief. I don’t understand why they can’t CHANGE the coding to handle XBL. Does anyone know why this is not possible?
It is possible to improve H:CE’s netcode to handle online play. But it costs time and money and isn’t worth it for Microsoft from a financial standpoint. Not to mention that they rather encourage people to play the new games instead of old ones.

Well, the campaign wasn’t either but we are seeing that over live with Halo CEA.
The reason we’re not getting a true Halo CE multiplayer experience is probably because that game was balanced like a Dodge Dart sitting on a teeter-totter opposite a 5 year old. And while that may not have been that bad with your friends, who weren’t likely to go to far with that sort of -Yoink-, online -Yoink–bags don’t have such restraining devices as “I can and will punch you if you don’t lay off the pistol” so you can’t trust them to provide worthwhile matchmaking.

They could always use the PC version as the Xbox Live arcade. Xbox Live has done it before with previous PC games converted to Xbox Arcades.
