Halo CE heroic, why is it so easy?

Having just finished Halo three my brother and I returned to CE to play our first heroic campaign. We had just finished all of the campaigns on normal and wanted to go back and do it again on heroic. Now let me tell you we are not that good. He averages 5-10 kills a game and I get 7-15 with my all time high on halo five fiesta 19 kills. However, upon returning to CE and doing the first two levels we found them to resemble normal far two much except for the inclusion of tons of red elites. We even beat the par time on pillar of autumn and we take our time on the levels. Did anyone else find this easy, am I better than I think I am ( not to be cocky I just don’t know what makes a player good as I am never high on the leaderboard), is two player split screen way too easy? The really confusing thing is we tried Pillar of Autumn on legendary a while back and couldn’t complete it, now doing heroic feels like a walk in the park.

I think you just got better, your first time playing it you just killed everything by shooting it. Now, you’ve realized that different guns have specific functions. The first time you played it on Normal you may have killed an elite by shooting it with an AR until it was dead, which is fairly difficult. Now you’re likely using the noob combo which makes it so much easier that it doesn’t offset the spike from Normal to Heroric.

Halo also has a little bit of a weird difficultly curve. The first two missions really aren’t that hard anyway. You’re about to go into Truth and Reconciliation, which is probably the hardest level in the whole game casually. Then it’ll get easy again before ramping up slowly over the next few missions.

Yes, splitscreen makes it easier as you have a higher FOV so you can see more.

I think it’s just you getting better at halo after just playing halo for a while you know what to do in some situations and you know how to do it well and efficiently. The topic of you completing it on Heroic and having trouble on legendary is a common complaint from some people. There is a huge difficulty spike form heroic to legendary in my opinion, from easy to heroic is’s all pretty balanced but the minute you get to legendary things become way harder.

Thanks just did Truth and Reconciliation, this is one of my favourites but I think the hardest part is the turret grunt hitboxes. Headshots need to be spot on and the best strategy is to snipe the waist (in my opinion) as wierd as it sounds. Thanks! I still kill everything with the AR though, just after plasma pistol charge shifting the shields away.

Are their any skulls that make it slightly harder? Let me know I want to get as good as possible before I attempt a fully completed legendary.

I believe there is Mythic and Black Eye, the latter disable the automatic shield recovery but if it’s like CEA on 360 the shield is instantly full when you melee an enemy, if it’s going to make your life harder or not is another question.

The game is easy anyway, a tough Master Chief and common weapons that are good at killing a lot of enemies.

A month later and I’m on legendary. Yay?
I did pillar of autumn on legendary co-op and beat the par time.

My 4th month playing halo, is this an achievement or not.

To awnser this I am using thunderstorm, mythic and sometimes even famine

I know that I find CE Heroic to be incredibly easy, while Legendary feels like a massive difficulty spike. Kinda sucks TBH I feel that Heroic should be harder to be a stepping stone towards Legendary like it feels in most other Halo games. My advice would be to just try it out on Legendary if you feel its not hard enough.

I did Sierra 117 but my co-op buddie let me halfway through to do it myself.

I basically used him as a mobile checkpoint (using his controller and hiding him away) killing as many as I could then respawning and killing myself again. Now I regret it because he how has technically completed that level according to the game. After this he forced me to play halo 2 uprising: heroic with thunderstorm skull and mythic. This level alone has put halo 2 brutes up there with sniper jackals, long escalators that reach verticality in the list of thing that should be removed from this world. Then he made me play the great journey (same settings). Then made me play ciaro station (same settings). Upon realising that I was the only one killing things in the 45 minutes that he let me try and complete the level myself (with him dying to one eliet ever time) I exited.

You just got good at the game I think while i do have problems with Halo CE on legendary but I think Heroic is the best way to play the original Halo trilogy.

Very easy

Halo is similar to nandos. Mild is boring, peri peri is a good starting point, medium is the best taste every, hot is well hot and after you first time having hot wings your really proud of yourself, the extra hot stuff is halo two legendary : horrid.

Easy is easy, normal is good for a starting point, heroic is perfect, legendary is challenging but also makes you proud of yourself, halo 2 legendary is a ragefest.

I also did halo 5 level one legendary and tried to do level two but the stupid bricks couldn’t kill a grunt so I stopped playing it.

I like to turn on the Thunderstorm Skull! Gives all enemies a Rank promotion! It’s cool, makes the game just slightly more challenging but still fun.

This is how I first got into Halo back in 2001, playing split screen with my brother. It was basically my first foray into the world of FPS gaming other than a few unenjoyable stints with golden eye and duke nukem. We started on Heroic, figuring that easy and normal would be a joke, and found it to be challenging at first. Once we figured out the algorithms behind the enemy behavior it became increasingly easy, to the point that nowadays the only challenging setting is LASO.

As with anything in life, the more experience you have with a certain thing the better you will be at dealing with it. If you keep playing, heroic mode will seem like a cakewalk like it does for my brother and me.
