i know there’s halo 2 on mcc but the halo 1/2 on the og xbox was awesome as well. any time for backwards compatibility on halo og xbox games?
Hopefully, they’ll be added next year, during the Spring update.
I would very much so like to see the OG Halo titles become backwards compatible!
Unless they have online functionality it doesn’t seem exceptionally desirable. It would be fun to have LAN parties with the Xbox One and all, but it would be a huge disappointment if the servers were not back up.

Last I checked, no one was playing it and the last time I ever saw anyone playing it, the entire population was littered with players with poor internet connections and only hosting maps on Lockout.

Ignoring the fact that it doesn’t have a solid population and the games are laggy, due to internet problems and people playing Halo 2 outside the US…

and some were lag, some had good connection
Still stand by my previous statement, online functionality or backward compatibility will be a serious letdown. Doesn’t seem likely they would bring them back either.

Do we really need 3 versions of the same game on one console?

Halo ce and 2 was a master piece for the Xbox and yes I do think we need halo ce for og Xbox backwards compatibility I am sorry but I like the original game better than the 360 and on the mcc

I’m aware. I was there.

Not trying to say youre wrong but why is OG CE and 2 better than what we have on CE:A and MCC? I personally think the upres versions are much better.

Mcc is broken campaign is good and all but the multiplayer is broken. On the 360/mcc the pistol sound is broken and I don’t like they changed the looks on it I know you can switch to classic mode but Still can not cut it for me. And I guess the reason being because I am nostalgic

One of those version is in a compilation, which is still broken (Halo: CE has, by far, the worst functionality out of all them in the MCC; plays nothing like the original), and CEA BC doesn’t have Halo: CE original MP. To add more salt to injury, both of those versions uses the PC port, and not the OG Xbox source.

Because those games actually worked as they were intended, and those are the purest forms of the first two Halo games.

CEA that was released for the 360 uses the original engine from the first game, Saber didn’t port the PC engine. Also as CE never had online multiplayer they had to make the decision of using Reach for the multiplayer component, otherwise they would have had to build it from scratch which would have taken way too long. There’s a good article here that talks about that a little more: https://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/6546/making_halo_anniversary_work.php

Hello there, anyway to give feedback to request og halo games to be backwards compatible?

Probably the Xbox UserVoice section for back compat, there might be a suggestion already open for them there:

No, it doesn’t, and Wikipedia isn’t always a credible source. When you switch to Classic Mode, play the PC port, and compare them, side-by-side, you start to notice similar graphical errors and other visual issues which aren’t present on the OG Xbox version. And yes, I’m aware that the game came out before Xbox Live, existed, but instead of having Reach to compensate for online play. They should have just added CE’s MP without online functionality, because not every Multiplayer experience has to be online.
