Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3...

Were not the same game. So why is wanting a more contemporary Halo experience such taboo? I don’t see how new mechanics, weapons, maps, a brand new campaign, Spartan Ops, etc. make the game “Just a Halo 3 remake” when Ordinance, Loadouts, Perks, and AAs are removed.

people have always complained

didn’t some people make a “Halo 2 Sucks” website as Bungie were make H2?

and i think even H3 got some hate as it was being developed

Nobody will be satisfied unless someone or something is the whipping boy.

I’m not asking for a remake! I just want to be “rewarded” for playing all of the Halo games to date! I consider myself a Halo Veteran, a Spartan Officer! (not that I’m any better than anyone at Halo) I just think a Legacy achievement or exclusive armor would be nice.

yes lets spend 30£ on a re-hashed game…

no, this is just going to get hypocritcal as well, you will say no, not a re-hashed game but expanded up while condemning the games the try to expand on halo.

Because we don’t want just a reflection of the previous halos gameplay, only adding new weapons, maps and a new campaign is not going to evolve or prevent the game from becoming stail. Like the PREVIOUS halos the gameplay needs to change in order to spice the game up. Simply adding new glowing orbs or pieces of metal that is strude through out the map is not by any means spicing up the gameplay it is just rehashing what we have been using for the last 10 years.

The Halo 2 sucks website was put up after Halo 2 released. It was warranted. Halo 2 pre update was the most thoughtless Halo multiplayer experience to date.

Honestly I think if this game had no AAs almost everyone would be hyped for it.

> “halo2sucks”

When H2 came out, it did suck. Then Bungie listened to the complaints and changed an awful lot about the game.

You are correct good sir.

There will ALWAYS be hate

So Halo 2 is just a rehashed CE? And 3 was just a rehashed Halo 2?

Yes, its a never ending cycle. once one game is made, it is hated, and many make plans to stay on the previous. It has been so in every halo after CE.

And halo 2 and 3 were very much the same. they played almost identical(with halo 3 really only adding equipment to the game). In fact, halo 3 was bungie’s attempt at correcting their mistakes with halo 2, with all of its bugs and glitches that they couldn’t possibly fix on the original xbox console.

This jump from halo 2-3 is solely why many can’t accept any change in the game. this period of playing basically the same game for 7 years(assuming they moved to reach) made them contempt with the gamestyle that existed in these 2 games, and made them wish for all others to be close.

Halo 2 was enormously different from halo 1. halo 3 was only slightly different from halo 2. ODST was different, but still played similar to halo 3(along with ading all DLC to halo 3) halo reach was enormously different than halo 3, and halo 4 will be very different from halo reach.

So adding gimmicks and crutches in an attempt to rake in any new players they can is a good thing, but staying true to the traditional Halo formula is not?

Well no they weren’t

I don’t care what people say: There were different.

Just like how Halo 4 looks different from the original trilogy and Reach (IMO)

To add to your point; If I want a new experience I’ll get a different game all together. We buy sequels because of our fondness of the earlier titles. We want a familiar experience. We are buying Halo game after Halo game because we like… Halo. Yes, a re-hashed title. You want something all new go buy a different game from a different series.

same game different weapons and maps.

Are you serious? The closest any two Halo games are is Halo 2 and Halo 3. That said, they played out much different.

I guess ignorance truly is bliss

Yep, regenerating health, being unable to time powerups properly, dual wielding, equipment, Forge, different movement settings between the three of them, and all the other multiplayer aspects that changed.

Yeah, I guess your right. CE is just Halo 3 with new weapons.

halo 2 introduced dual wielding and a larger weapon sandbox.
halo 3 introduced equipment.

halo 2 and 3 had the same mechnics and movement traits, the only real difference was that halo 3 uses bullet travel while halo 2 used hitscan, the gameplay between the 2 didn’t change.
