Halo: CE Glitched Grenades

I was playing through the Halo: CE campaign the other day and I kept noticing an issue with my grenades. Sometimes, when they would usually detonate, nothing would happen. This happened most often with plasma grenades. The only time I recall this happening with a frag grenade was when I threw one out and then walked back through a loading zone that I had already triggered. Also, sometimes when I stuck an enemy with a plasma grenade, they would die but there would be no explosion and the other enemies in the vicinity wouldn’t be affected. I was playing on classic graphics and on heroic difficulty with no skulls turned on. Hopefully, this issue gets fixed.

That sounds like 2 issues that date back to the original release of CE:

  • Thrown grenades are deleted when you hit different load zones, hence why they don’t explode. - When you stick an enemy, there’s a chance that the stuck limb will clip through the map geometry. Most entities are deleted if they enter this ‘void space’ outside the map, so grenades won’t explode properly.It’s a quirk of Bungie’s 20 year old code so I expect it’d be quite an undertaking to fix, unfortunately. It can be very irritating though.
