So I got my invite for flight 4 for PC, but I was only offered a Steam key. I have MCC on PC currently through Game Pass Ultimate. Are the flight builds only being done through Steam or can I also get a test build through the Windows store? I currently do not have Steam installed on my computer, so would be easier if I did it through Windows Store.
I don’t get why they just don’t send out keys to the platform people own the game on… I have the game on Steam but I got an MS Store Insider copy instead…
Hey OP, the version of MCC you have purchased / installed doesn’t matter for flights as you don’t need to own MCC to take part. It’s unfortunately not possible to switch the platform you were chosen for, so you would need to install Steam if you wanted to play. None of this will affect your ability to play the retail build through the MS Store

Having an even distribution of player across both platforms is likely a goal, so they can ensure things work the same across those platforms

Thanks. I reinstalled Steam and am downloading now. I likely am going to use Infinite as an excuse to finally get into PC gaming this year anyways and invest in a NZXT BLD so getting back into Steam probably inevitable anyways and when Halo CE comes out for PC, will get added to my copy of MCC on my laptop. Purchased on Steam and got an MS store Insider, too.
I’ve encountered more issues with Xbox Insider Hub and MS Store than the MCC Insider itself. For example, I received the update notification mail a few days ago but can’t update MCC in the MS Store, so I had to reinstall it.
Can Insider still be launched on Xbox? Whenever I try, it just takes me to the Store.

No, the current flights are for PC only
Yeah I would imagine they would do both. Makes sense since both platforms are used!
