Just thought I’d share some random things that I found when Halo was first released. As a kid, some of the most fun I had was messing around with the elevators on Assault on the Control Room.
#1: Pile some bodies onto the elevator platform and send it up and down, the bodies will start spinning out of control.
#2: Take the elevator down to the bottom floor, jump off, and send the elevator back up; now there is just a deep pit in front of you. Have a partner jump into the pit several times with grenades. After a bunch of bodies and explosives have compiled at the bottom of the pit, chuck a grenade down there and watch the shaft rain with bodies. (Recommended that you use boom and bandanna skulls in CEA for better results)
-get a Goldie on the elevator, send it down, wait a bit, then send it back up. Goldie will go through it and he might survive the fall and landing and will be at the bottom of the pit
-get a Goldie to go on the elevator, send it down, then get him to swipe at you and he might end up on the ledge right under you (the elevator boarding platform, not the activation platform)
-get a Goldie to leap to the other side, send the elevator down so he’ll be stuck, and jump to the left or right of him and he’ll leap at you and fall to his death
-get a bunch of human combat forms on Two Betrayals on the elevator (disarm their whip arms) then send the elevator up, go on top of one of the combat forms and you’ll go right through the elevator (might take some tries)
-if you have a bunch of combat forms on elevator, send it up, wait a bit, then send it down and they’ll fall through the elevator and fall into the pit
-if you get the Two Betrayals Goldie to the elevator, you can bring him down without a plasma pistol overcharge or going around him during the descent by sending the combat forms as an offering. This is practical on higher difficulties
The dancing corpses on the elevator very quite fun, but piling up lots of corpses and grenades at the bottom and blowing them up was simply LOLtacular!
