Halo CE Assault Rifle or HALO REACH ASSUALT RIFle

Which version of the assalt rifle would you like to see in Halo 4, the CE assault rifle or the Reach assault rifle.

The CE assault rifle has a larger magazine
The Reach assault rifle has a shorter magazine with better range and accuracy.
Or do you want to see a mix of both with 60 rounds and with better range and accuracy.
Please discuss.

how about the Halo 3 assault rifle? its more balanced

With the Reach one im always 1 or 2 bullets short of killing my target…

Side note maybe I just suck with the AR…

Br <3

eeehh i guess but i mean Reach had that extra riticule for mid-range but iguess Halo 3 sents Reach wasnt all that balanced.

Isn’t that a good thing if you run out of ammo? Means it’s harder for the not good players to use.

Even though it’s terribly easy.

the SMG in ODST

that is all

You and I obviously didn’t play the same games. Halo 3 wasn’t even close to balanced - there were way too many weapon redundancies, an incredibly OP utility weapon, and DUAL WIELDING. For whatever reason, probably because there aren’t a dozen other automatics riddled across the map that are BETTER than it (SMG, anyone? literally the same gun, but dual-wieldable, more dps, and bigger clip), the Reach AR plays much, much better than the H3 version.

But its still not enough. AR should shed all its noob-friendly aim-assisting and get more damage per bullet. Bursting should let me OUT-CLASS br/dmr, not barely enable me to stand a chance. There shouldn’t be a level of play where a long-range rifle ALWAYS beats a close-range automatic. Players need to be punished and rewarded for their weapon/range choices - otherwise, why should we even have different weapons?

i dont think you understand the point of the gun. its to protect you until you can get better ones. and the SMG was way weaker. 2 of them was barely even as good as one AR

Halo 3 AR.

I just want it to sound like the H1 AR. It still sounds amazing. H3 AR sounded like a popcorn maker, I can’t believe Bungie thought that sound was fitting.

CE AR with a damage boost.

Where is the option for no AR?

Halo 3 Assault Rifle, fits into canon. (MA5C Assault Rifle)32 rounds

The only thing I ask for is good balance vs other weapons. My personal opinion is, with the exception of power weapons, any 2 people running at each other unloading everything in their clips, making every shot count, they should both fall down dead at the same time, AR, Needler, battle rifle, plasma rifle, doesn’t matter. I think it makes automatic weapons useless when every time a precision weapon can beat it simply because while they both drain shields at the same rate, precision gets the 1-shot health killer head shot. That pretty much turns every game from “grab your favorite gun” to DMR/BR only fights.
Don’t get me wrong, SWAT is one of my favorite game types on Reach, but when I want to play other game types, such as a simple slayer match in rumble pit, I find it disappointing that I either have to go back to the DMR or lose.

It will be the Halo 3/Reach assault rifle, obviously, the AR’s magazine won’t magically increase to 60 while he’s stranded on a half destroyed ship.

What the -Yoink- is the point of having different guns if they work exactly the same. They should all have advantages and disadvantages in order to work with different strategies/playstyles.

And I understand that people can get tired of using the same guns over and over, but the solution shouldn’t be to make the BR/DMR less powerful, but to make it harder to get. Why can’t it be like the power weapons where they are strong but in limited supply

Do people really care more about how the gun fits into the story than how fun the game is?

edit:
or are you just being facetious :stuck_out_tongue:

A Halo4 Assault rifle would be great

I hated Reach’s for one reason or another, but CE was great. Halo 3 was also great despite a lower clip.
