The original Halo: CE was on PC, along with Halo 2. I Figured that since Halo: CE Anniversary is being done by 343, it may have a chance to go back to PC like originally? No? WHY?! If they are going to make an Anniversary of it…then why not also port it to PC?
agreed

Agreed. I loved the entire Halo series…but i lost a lot of respect for it when it went strictly 360. I hoped and figured 343 would realize how strong it was on PC and make their new series on 360 AND PC. We’ll see if they maybe port it over on a later date.
Because there isnt going to be multiplayer on the anniversery addition for online. Its on the Reach engine. Thats why.

Thank you.

LOL, np
It divides the halo fanbase. PC it stupid for gaming anyway, it may be better but I’d prefer using a controller.
Lol no
Otherwise porting a game from Console to PC costs a lot of money. And the Halo games on PC didn’t sell well.
The thing about Halo: CE Anniversary is that it’s not just a remastered campaign. There’s a great deal of content that’s included for Halo: Reach. As Halo: Reach isn’t on the PC platform, this would create a problem. I’m going to take a shot in the dark by saying that a remastered campaign wouldn’t be as successful on PC, as an entire multiplayer experience that is currently offered via the original Halo: CE on PC.
> It divides the halo fanbase. PC it stupid for gaming anyway, it may be better but I’d prefer using a controller.
>.> Which came first!? PCs or Consoles!? PCs. Can PC use console controllers!? YES. Are you stupid? YES! PC is not stupid for gaming, they are better in every way. Consoles are just generally cheaper.
As for you Hypertrooper, yes it does cost money to port a console game to the PC, but as far as Halo PC games not selling very well, that’s not true, they sell well.
As for Reach not being a PC platform, Halo CE wasn’t released on the PC at first, it had to be ported to the PC, and such a thing isn’t that hard, if it’s done right. It’s just easier if the game being made is made on both platforms.
To me it doesn’t really matter, since I have a 360 but not a PC. But I suppose if it was the other way around I would be pretty angry.
With Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo: Reach (the last 4 Halo games) not releasing on the PC, does anyone who knows anything Halo really surprised they’re not releasing it on the PC?
Really? I thought this was very obvious.
TL;DR: Not going to happen, which is very obvious.

Firstly, please don’t flame other users, weird stealth.
Secondly, the last time a Halo game was ported to PC was almost half a decade ago. In order to port Halo: CEA to PC, you’re saying that 343i need to port Halo: Reach to the PC first. Logical enough as then there wouldn’t be any need to alter the Halo: CEA title for PC. But then 343i would need to port 2 Halo games to PC. Microsoft haven’t ported 1 Halo game in the last four years, I don’t see them porting 2 in the next three.

Oh, please state why it was VERY obvious to you. Cause I know of tons of reasons why, and I’ve heard of many more reasons.
Also, I’m not very savy when it comes to abrivations, hell, I get confused with most of the abrivations in my military life.
So explain TL;DR.
TL;DR: is short for Too Long**;** Didn’t Read**:** (it’s something users add when they suspect that some viewers won’t bother reading their entire post. The explanation sounds a little offensive, but I’ve seen plenty of users just use it to denote a summary hehe).
The reason why it would seem obvious is because the last 4 Halo games haven’t been released on PC. So for Halo: CEA or Halo: Reach to be released on the PC platform… it would kind of break a recent trend.
So was it Microsoft’s choice to stop the Halo games from going to PC, or was it Bungie’s choice? If it were Bungie’s choice, then i hoped maybe 343 was going have a different plan for the series. Halo 1 and Halo 2 were both on PC and were both successful. I don’t see why they wouldn’t attempt re-starting the new series on PC as well.

In my defence, I was trying be nice, and state the fact. Some people forget what PC stands for, which is Personal Computer, and Play Stations and Xbox are in a way Personal Computers, the internal set up may be different, and the booting OS is different, and they don’t need Keyboards to start up, and instead of the power supply being in the case, it’s a part of the power cord.
Now, thanks for explaining TL;DR to me, it’s not something I see a lot.
And yes, I can see that’s the kind of the trend that has been going on, but one can hope that 343 breaks a trend and tries to port some of the newer Halo titles to the PC.
Well for starters, Halo CEA wasnt meant to be a big title, so a port to the PC is unlikely due to 343i having issue just getting the idea on its feet when they described it to MS for the xbox. In order to port, they would have to divide another team to make that port. Bungie/MS may have gotten the go-ahead for the PC versions of HCE and H2, but they werent made by bungie. It was ported by gearbox. And also as described above. Reach wasnt a PC game, they would have to make whole new servers to get the muliplayer part set up. Time they could use to make the xbox version better.
Or maybe Im wrong and MS just wants more 360 exclusives to keep up against PS3. But thats just my thoughts. Personally I could care less if it did or didnt come out for PC because I’m a console gamer

This lol, 343 has other things to worry about than this. The game is obviously in the final stages of being completed. They have halo 4 coming in 2012. So no. I dont see a PC game coming anytime soon.
