Halo CE Anniversary Kinect Library

There used to be a feature in the original Xbox release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary where you could use the Kinect to scan enemies and vehicles to collect in a “Library” of information, kind of like the Grimoire database in Destiny. Anyways it’s nowhere to be found in MCC. Anyone know if 343i would ever add this into the Extras section of the game? Doesn’t seem terribly difficult. What do you think?

I agree that it should be added - but expanded and for all games.

That would be a great addition

Idk, seems kinda gimmicky, but adding a feature like this couldn’t hurt

All orphaned content like this should be added someday, MCC is worth it entirely because of the sweat the team puts in. I hope it makes it!

Yeah I agree that the in-game feature could probably be removed, but I’d definitely make the dataabase accessible in the game - or even into the app? The idea of expanding it is pretty attractive too.

This would simply be incredible if it expanded to all Halo games.

A fun interactive way for players both old and new to amass and access a deep extensive archive.

This archive should be split into 3 sections…

  • Music:
Finding and scanning hidden data devices containing a music track, unlocks that track in the player’s main menu jukebox which they can then scroll through and select the track they want playing in their main menu.

  • Behind the Scenes:
Finding and scanning hidden data devices containing trailers, vidocs, concept art etc compiles them for viewing.

  • Lore:
Finding and scanning characters, enemies, flora, fauna, gear etc or other things, for example, one of the MAC guns you can see out the window in Cairo Station. I hate H5 but it might be a good idea to include H5 stuff in H4 to bridge the gap.

This is a really cool idea and I absolutely love it. More behind the scenes work that intertwined into the game would be pretty awesome! Thank you for sharing such a fun idea!

That is so COOL!!! I never new i could do this in CEA and i was all about the kinect and halo back then! kinda reminds me of metroid prime scanning but still it’s a pretty neat way of getting collectables. id really like this for reach to use the model viewer feature so i can really get good look at everything.

Yes! It was really unique! And with Halo being such a sandbox-forward game, a model viewer could be a cool feature.
