Halo CE Anniversary has 550,000 Pre Orders!

Halo CE Anniversary currently has 550,000 pre orders! With one week left I think it will reach (no pun intended) 700,000, since pre orders always jump the week before realease. This should bring Reach’s population back up to a healthy 200,000+.

That’s all nice and all and I’m really happy for the Halo community but it kind saddens me to see over two MILLION pre-orders for MW3 :confused:

What has this generation come to?

Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of optimism, but I highly doubt the influx of returning players to matchmaking will last more than a few weeks. :frowning:

Though, as the population stands now, I’m certainly looking forward to the masses next Tuesday. Fresh meat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well the original CE was a release game for the Xbox. A while ago I checked VGcharts and it sold some 60,000 its first week. That is until it got more attention and later sold millions.

I think its more a generation that hates arena shooters, and the ones that do, refuse to play console games.

That’s it??? It’s sad that after ten years of Halo, Halo isn’t so popular no more.

Inheritors? haha they beated me and i also beated them, Rank doesnt matter, higher rank means only you have more credits

Well consider that CEA isn’t technically a new, full game like MW#, Skyrim, etc.
And it’s not being advertised nearly as much.

So it shouldn’t really matter. This game is for the fans, not the masses.

finial reach will be getting some more maps :D, even if there old remakes, i can’t wait :smiley:

swheet. wait whats that? mw3? oh yeah… noobs will be on for about 1 or 2 days before going to their “casual playground” mw3…
Hopefully the pop will stabilize at 100,000 at a moment and 1,000,000 a day.

I doubt it.
People always hate new stuff.
Im not going to forsake reach, and I doubt a lot of people will be “thrilled” with halo 4;
I say this because:
Make it too competitive (super utility weapon “BR” / no vehicles) -
competitive will worship it and make it a corner stone of MLG
casuals will hate it and destroy the population (20000 to 30000)

Make it too casual (cater to 'living dead/social kids", make game modes like “swat” with assault rifles and shotguns as starts and add a ridiculous amount of gun customization and variation)
DOES ANYONE REALIZE HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE WOULD PLAY HALO IF CRAP LIKE KILLSTREAKS OR PERKS (SHIELD STRENGTH, 4 SHOT DMR PERK) WERE ADDED?
pros will hate it, and among the competitive halo community: halo will be dead.
casuals will add this to their social playground where MW3 will currently reside. this will no doubt tripple/quad the population (possibly even 500000 people online at a time)

Make it in between:
nostalgic kids will rage about it being too different from “halo 2/3’s competitive nature” or not having “halo reachs fun feel”
This is the most likely destiny of halo 4. Kids will rage on “forerunner slayer” and praise halo reach.

There is no way to please a fan base as large as halo’s. Reach has done an excellent job, but just look at its MINOR flaws, and you can see how easy people forget what has been fixed:
People hate:
Bloom
AA - jetpack/armorlock
“bad maps”
noobs on your team

People forgot:
halo 3’s GARBAGE MAPS - sandbox vairants, construct, isolation, standoff, foundry
BR spread
cheaters/modders (halo 2 anyone?)
boosters
3 bullet AR beatdown
dual wielding
derankers on your team
old veto system (in doubles = "slayer epitaph/crappy sandbox variant + veto = oddball construct)

See what I mean?

Certainly enough there to make a Halo 2 remake… profitable.
