Hello Everyone
Personally one of my favorite parts of the halo campaign is that you fell like a true soldier, you feel like a part of an army. In halo 3, you almost always had a squad of marines following you into battle or atleast had help from them in terms of weapon drops and such, in halo reach you could form a fireteam of marines who would follow you up to a defined point, but in halo 4 and 5, there is very little companion assistance besides the spartan fire team in halo 5, which simply seems like “an unstoppable force.” who here agrees that there should be more AI helpers in the game? I know that it would make the halo universe more alive if there were other soldiers that can follow you and help you.
while were on the subject, we need another Sgt. Johnson style character, a person who is on par with a spartan, even the master chief, who is a simple marine (I know that Johnson has had augmentations but he is, for the most part, human as opposed to Spartans, who are emotionless killing machines) All I’m saying is that there needs to be more human or even elite allies in the fight
another thing I would like to ask, would you like to see more friendly races, such as the grunts who worked with the swords of sanghelios, in halo, I think that it would help the universe feel more diverse.
thank you for reading have a great day.
In Halo Reach you sometimes had marines, but more often than not you’re left to rely on your team of invincible Spartans with Armor Lock, I find that worse than Halo 5.
And it does make sense that you don’t see as many marines around. You’re not necessarily part of a large-scale war anymore, Halo 4 was just you crash-landing alone and eventually beating up one boss alone, and all of Halo 5 was 2 Spartan operations and one Sanghelli attack.
Agreed… Halo shined when there were big battles going on between 2+ opposing forces.
I do want more missions where you’re fighting alongside friendly AI. Even if they’re fodder, my favorite missions had us leading Marines into battle, keeping them alive, being the hero of human forces. Silent Cartographer in HCE did this very, very well. So did Outskirts in H2. Tons of Reach missions did it well also.

Especially in Halo ce mission Assault on the Control Room where I would try to save as many marines especially in Co-op as my friend would drive the warthog to get extra marines and I would get into the scorpion to meet up with the next marine battalion.

I do agree with you how the last two games are more of solo missions as opposed to full on assaults and defense such as halo 3 a
and halo reach, plus I would have preferred the halo 5 spartan health set up (not immortals) as opposed to the halo reach Spartans, but having it so that they didn’t die, just went down and were able to be revived (deaths are a lot less meaningful if they happen 7 times a mission)

how is this spam? he said a single word but he didn’t repeat it over and over, he just found the easiest way to state his opinion

I couldn't agree more.
btw, I couldn’t find any videos that showcased the opening cut scenes from the ark and the covenant, which are basically the exact same thing, a massive battle of opposing sides.
More marines should help but…
-Do not let them drive “any” vehicle
-Do not give them grenades
-They should always be behind you (they always rush)

I mean gameplay, in-game… the beach assault on Silent Cartographer, defending the beacons on Halo, some of the battles with the Covenant and Flood, where they fought each other and you.
Some moments in H2 were good too… I think the encounter design in H3 and on was largely forgettable.

Cuz it’s a one word response = spam. I dislike how little effort so many put out when it comes to these forums. You agree with something? try saying why.
not to mention if one word responses were tolerated many would go to various threads just to rank up their comments.
on the topic of the thread: I’ve always disliked AI play. Just about every game fails on making them work and it then causes frustration. H5 for example has dumb AI that will ignore you input, get stuck, and ultimately don’t do much damage resulting in them being pretty much useless. Then there’s reach where again, they were dumb and did various things to frustrate the player, like driving off the maps…
id much rather they ignore AI companionship unless they can truly get it right, till then I’d prefer they put more focus on the individual player.
as for the marines and everything else that fought on your side but not by your side(meaning they didn’t follow you everywhere, they wrere restricted to certain areas), I think they could do that more often. They die so fast tho.
I mean Johnson wasn’t at par. Far from it. But besides that point yea I would like some more friendly faces. It was reassuring back then after running through a few missions alone to find a group of allies.
