Not sure the exact forum to post this to so I am considering it a community creation.
An enemy is attack something of importance that you must protect. Your character is ether real experienced in weaponry like the master chief or has previous training piloting a UNSC Colossus. There is a research station working on building a space assault variant of the Colossus. You fight off attackers inside the facility until you reach the working prototype space assault Colossus. Then you take control of it and pilot it through the fleet battle happening in space.
First part of the battle you have to destroy fighters and boarding ships attacking the UNSC fleet with the enemies large ships looming in the distance. After having fun doing that you join a fighter assault on the enemy fleet. Now you are not only fighting fighters but you also are taking out enemy cruisers and dreadnought’s artillery. You are helping the battle but your efforts aren’t doing enough. Your new mission is to take down the enemies capital ship. First stage is to get through its shield and take down flak turrets around a hanger entrance and get inside.
Now inside the capital ship you use the Colossus’s ground combat mode. Once the Hanger is clear reinforcement land inside to secure it. You dismount the Colossus and work your way through the ship taking out vital systems. You successfully cripple or destroy the capital ship. With the capital ship taken down the fleet is either destroyed or retreats depending on the progression of the story for the rest of the campaign.
I would love to play a space battle in a giant mech suite against a guardian or flood fleet.
