The bulletin makes it look like the needler is now a power weapon. So is it actually going to be a weapon to fear now? Or is it a drop because its to good too be a secondary but too bad to be a primary so they just made it a drop? I think something like the needler should just be on the map, it doesn’t have a really big reputation of being useful, so I doubt it will be picked often at all.
In a video with Bravo commentating, he said that 343i said that the ordinance drop is composed of 3 completely random things; a random power weapon (that suits the map), a completely random weapon, and a random power-up. In one of the very first game-play videos, it showed an ordinance drop with a plasma pistol in it.

That rapid-fire 7 needle instant kill Halo 3 monstrosity was almost as awesome as (and far more useful than) dual Needlers in Halo 2!

Nothing is as awesome as the feeling of dual-wielding Needlers in Halo 2. You felt like such a beast running around with those!

> I think of the needler as a noob weapon for people who can’t aim. I hope that it is made slighlty less powerful than it was in Reach.

No, the real noobs are the people who can’t avoid it.
I do like the sound of a needler as a power weapon. It implies it will be stronger in the campaign as well which hopefully means that there will be moments where I actually fear a pack of bloodthirsty grunts! The needler also seemed nerfed since Halo 3 just so it could fit into loadouts -and just not as fun.
I’m fine with the needler being more powerful but I hope that the jetpack is either taken out of matchmaking or extremely nerfed. Using a jetpack and shooting a needler at someone is so easy to abuse and almost un-avoidable.
Each map will have an ordance drop of a power weapon, another weapon and a power up that would be good for the map itself. Each of these will change on each map depending on what the map is and what type of weapons and power up are ideal for that map.
I watched some video on YouTube yesterday and some 343i employee refused to comment when an MLG player asked him if the Needler was a power weapon. Meaning it is.
