Does anyone else think that the introduction of Chiefs skin in fortnite could be their way of teasing BR for Halo Infinite?
I feel like its the opposite. Its likely the agreement to have chief in Fortnite was done before the delay, meaning chief being in Fortnite would have come out after the game’s launch. Its unlikely Fortnite would want a direct competitor character in their game.

No. Dev’s have already said no to BR in Infinite several times. I think the dev’s got sick of some gamers asking this and that’s why I believe they put it into Fornite so people would stop asking because there is a sort of way to play BR with Halo without it hurting the mainline Halo series.

I hope nothing changed. The chief skin in Fortnite is good promotion and all but I really hope BR isn’t in Halo Infinite. The trends already on its descent and jumping on would be a waste of valuable time. Of course, maybe they think they can innovate the genre enough to make it super popular again. I doubt that would happen though.

Pretty sure Sketch shot down those rumours again very recently.
Was a rumour floating around about a month ago saying there would be a BR Mode in Infinite.
He basically said “more unfounded Halo Infinite rumours”.
I hope there isn’t a 343 made BR in Halo Infinite. They should instead let players create a BR in Infinite and maybe add it to the matchmaking as a rotational playlist. This would make sure they didn’t waste time working on something instead of Halo’s core modes.

Game development takes time so I doubt there going to abandon 4-5 years of development time to waste time building BR that will usually overshadow over other game modes like other games do.
I know there’s the famous “The only BR we’re interested in is the battle rifle” line, but that was said more than 2 years ago. Battle Royales aren’t just a trend at this point, they’re very much their own genre/game mode and they’re sticking around.
Do I think Halo should attempt one? It’s really hard to just give a hard “no” to this. Halo already has so many components to it that make it a perfect space for a BR. Between ODST drop pods, the variety of tiered power weapons, the vehicles in the sandbox, giant maps, customizable armors for characters…it really does just make sense.
But that being said, I would much prefer a different mode that was on the scale of a BR while being its own thing. Personally I would love to see a ramped up version of Invasion that was 50v50 or something like that, or possibly something similar to a Battlefield game.
Whatever the the big third mode turns out to be, I’ll go in with an open mind about it. I’ve wanted a mode with a really high player count for literally over a decade at this point so whatever it is, I’m not going to immediately write it off if it’s not built to my own personal hyper specific preferences.

plenty of devs from other games have stated BR is a low-cost mode. It’s why a lot of current plutliplayer indies go that route and then build additional systems after their launch.

I dont see anything saying that mode is dying off. Also, who cares if it’s there. The only thing thats important if it exists is that its additive. Aka the core social, ranked modes are there (ctf, slayer, oddball, swat, btb, forge etc. and maybe firefight (I say maybe as this one is honestly the least important)). If the core stuff is there, there is 0 harm in making a BR. I don’t care personally if it’s there or not. I’d rather a mode unique to halo be eh, if they want to add a BR, fine.

There were a lot of rumors included in that false leak. He’s not gonna say some of it is real so he’s just gonna say it’s unfounded.

Not entirely true. Plenty of dev’s have complained about the crunch due to the amount of skins they have to make within short times and many games like Fornite have made modes like ‘Save the World’ feel mostly ignored since Br mode came out. From the tech side…it sounds exhausting and repetitive.
