I dont mind some competitiveness but whenever i game it highly focused around such a thing it makes the game unenjoyable. Looking back on Halo 2, with high aim assist and bull mag, it was regarded as the best, then again these are all opinions and not facts. While playing Halo 5, though it has the since of competitiveness, it is too competitive, the population had decreased and it cant hold over new players because of the skill gap. Halo isnt accessible like CoD which is a good thing but if you cant keep people to stay then whats the point of continuing a franchise that holds onlu about 40,000 players at peak if that?
The point to a game, a video game is to have fun, and if you cant then there is no point in continuing to try at the game because you find it not enjoyable. Do others find things like this annoying? I want to try to love halo like i use to but the thing is, I feel that its mostly pro players and tryhards that make the game unbearable most of the time.
If Halo 4 would of had what Halo 5 does it would be been liked more, regardless of the high aim assist and bullet mag.
it shows you have zero halo 5 played…
Hate to tell you, but I love Halo’s competitive style

What? Halo 4 tried the casual route and failed miserably. Spartan Ops was a failure in regards to it’s gameplay. it had major negative feedback. I hate to even acknowledge this, but Reach was the best casual Halo and I think Halo 4 tried to stay with that formula of Reach and missed the mark completely. Halo was built for competitive play and then the casual playlists developed based on the already created framework. I do agree that Halo 5 has completely missed to draw in the casual/social Halo player base.

Actually no Halo wasnt build for competitive play, it was never intended by Bungie whenever it was made, they just made a game and everyone enjoyed it

Yes, yes it is. it shows you only have limited play time with this game.

Were you drunk or stoned when you wrote this rambling bunch of nonsense?
Im going to simply disagree. Halo is competitive by nature and the casual players rallied around other bits and pieces bungie offered like forge and custom games.
i love halo 5.

Which does sucks since I have life priorities, which sucks from time to time so I cant devote all my time to the game

Competitive gameplay should be followed up by a great matchmaking experience. It doesn’t matter how hard a game is if the people you’re playing against are roughly the same skill level as you.
I’m reminded of watching my son play junior basketball. They played well and tried their best. It wasn’t high end play, but it was a good show of competition because they were evenly matched.
Competitiveness is really good for a game if you can ensure that the players are well matched.

don’t sweat it. I have hundred of hours on Goldeneye on the N64 and never owned it. We just played at my friends house all the time. I also don’t own a street fighter 2 championship arcade machine, but I played that a crap ton when I was a kid.
OP, a competitive Halo is a good thing and that’s not the problem with Halo 5. It’s the systems in place that make it not feel right. A poor ranking system, a lack of actual laid back social playlists, and a general lack of variety including non competitive gametypes can all make the game feel overwhelming and too serious for many people.
Despite what most people here may say, most of the competitive community will tell that, as of now, Halo 5 is one of the less skill based Halos. A competitive, skill based game with casual gametypes and community features is what you need for the game to have mass appeal. That’s what Bungies games had and that’s what 343’s games lack.
Nope… Halo has always been competitive in nature, and I find that to be what makes it “fun.”

source please
and the fact that you said “whenever it was made” makes me think are not really a fan or at least a younger one (15-18)
Halo CE was made in 2001. that is common knowledge
Halo should be competitive. I’d argue any shooter should be competitive. Without depth or challenge, games quickly become boring.
The problem is the lack of fun gametypes like infection and the lack of fun playlists. The great thing about Halo 2/3 was the fact that there were the ‘hardcore’ playlists like slayer, objective, and eventually MLG, and then there were social fun playlists AS WELL AS many custom games that you could play.
Halo 5’s skill gap isn’t even that large because of all the new dumb spartan abilities added. Spartan charging takes no skill.
