I know a lot of games now are jumping on the ‘battle royale’ band wagon due to its popularity, and i wouldnt be suprised if Halo did too. Which got me thinking, would a Halo battle royale game mode work? Yes! Dont get me wrong, im not asking for a battle royale Halo game because Ive had enough with battle royales. But, think of it this way. They could portray it as some sort of ODST VR training drill were you were shot out of the Infinity or any other ship, and landed on part of the ring in your drop pod, it would make sense as spartans and ODST’s are trained to work with minimalistic supplies and equipment. The ‘storm’ or dead zone closing in on the map could be flood spores in the atmosphere. Obviously, there would be vehicles dotted around the map such as tanks, warthogs or even the civillian vehicles we saw in Halo Reach and ODST. As I said, im not asking for a battle royale gamemode (mainly because Halo is meant to be its own thing and not just following trends cough BO4 cough) however, I would see how it would work. Whats your thoughts?
There’s honestly nothing wrong with the idea of following trends or what’s “hot” in the gaming sphere right now. The issue is that Halo’s developers love to treat their cash cow (mainline titles) as a guinea pig for new ideas. Instead, they should be making more spinoffs.
Halo has everything needed to make a great Battle Royale experience. It just needs to not interfere with Infinite, unlike what Warzone did with H5. Or else it will just needlessly split the community, as well as take up too many resources.
We already have a couple of topics open about Battle Royale, feel free to use one of the existing active threads. Worth noting though that 343 have already started that they aren’t working on any BR games or modes
