CHRONICLES OF THE UNSC

Twenty hours after the start of Battle Earth the USNC and the ONI are forced to evacuate or eliminate their jeopardized bases around the globe and avoid the Covenant have access to human´s most important knowledge and deepest secrets. This are the unknown stories of a secret Spartan company exclusively for this special tasks.

A large group of Covenant forces are moving to the Yucatan Peninsula, their target is the ONI Research Island known as Nuevo Kukulkan.

This artificial island is placed over a massive underwater crater where several Forerunner artifacts are being extracted. Now an elite squad of Spartans known as “The Hell hounds” must stops the Covenant forces. The 4th Shock Troopers Demolition Company is in charge of eliminate all data from the island´s system and demolition of the island while the URNA Special Forces extract the artifacts with supervision of the ONI personnel. The USNC and the URNA Defense Forces will provide reinforcements.

1.1 Operation: IXAZALUOH

Location: HIGHCOM Facility Delta-5. Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico. United Republic of North America.

The Hell Hounds are waiting the arrivals of their commanders on the “war room”. Before the arrival the Spartans check the maps of the ONI island in the holodeck with the assistance of the base AI Alexia.

–How bad its the situation, Alexia?– asks Rebecca.

–Our radars detect at least 5 corvettes and a unknown number of small vehicles heading to Nuevo Kukulkan.– responds Alexia.

–Can you show us, Alexia.– says Sebastien while gets closer to the holodeck.

–Yes, sir.– responds Alexia.

The holodeck displays the Covenant forces heading to the base from the Gulf of Mexico.

–Any attempt to slow them down?– asks Daniel.

–Yes, the URNA Defense Forces send 3 Paris class heavy frigates, but only destroyed 1 Covenant corvette and the 3 frigates were destroyed.– responds Alexia in a sad tone.

Before Daniel could say something the door opens and the commanders of this mission arrives tot he war room. All Spartans form and salute their superiors.

–Attention, Spartans.– says Daniel.

–Thanks.– says Admiral Richards.

Now the five commanders must discuss about the fate of the mission. Admiral Richards is the first to speak.

–I see that Alexia introduce you about our current situation.– says Admiral Richard while watching the map of the ONI research island in the holodeck.
–Yes, sir.– responds all the Spartans.

–This mission could be on of the most important of this war. The Covenant plan to take the Forerunner artifacts that we discover five years ago at the Yucatan Peninsula. Looks like this artifacts are linked with the ones in New Mombasa.– says Admiral Richards.

The holodeck displays the location of the already extracted artifacts, also the ones still hidden inside the crater.

–As you can see we already extracted three of the seven artifacts. But we are now extracting the fourth artifact before evacuate the island.– says Commander Hamilton.

–How much time will take extract the fourth artifact?– ask Sebastien.

–Approximately 65 minutes.– says Commander Hamilton.

–That is too much time, Commander.– says Anthony.

–We know, Spartan. That is why we requested support from the United Republic of North America Defense Forces.– says Admiral Richards.

On the main screen appears the live footage of the ONI personnel extracting the artifact while the military personnel prepare their defenses for the Covenant assault.

–Also we are preparing our defenses and the arrival of the reinforcements.– says Commander Hamilton.

–The 4th Shock Troopers Demolition Company will be in charge of eliminate all data and the destruction of the facility.– says Lieutenant General Melendez.

–The URNA Defense Forces will assist the ONI personnel, as well infantry and vehicles to protect the island.– says General Salazar.

Now the footage on the screen changes and display at least two dozens of Pelicans transporting Scorpions, Cougars, Wolverines, Warthogs, Fox Cannons and more escorted by Longswords and Falcons.

–We have four MAC destroyers placed on strategic points around the island ready to eliminate any incoming Covenant aircraft. But the firepower is limited during the recharge of the MAC cannons.– says Fleet Admiral Anderson.

–Nuevo Kukulkan have four mass drivers and 6 anti-air guns as primary defense line. Protect them at all cost, Spartans.– says Commander Hamilton.

The holodeck shows the location of each mass driver and anti-air guns.
–Any support from the Orbital Defense Platforms, Admiral?– asks Rebecca.

–The nearest station is Ciudad de Mexico which is engaging right now two Covenant CCS-class battlecruisers.– interrupts Alexia.

–Thanks Alexia. We requested their support, after the Defense Platform finish eliminating those cruisers will be positioned over the corvettes and sending them directly to Hell.– says Admiral Richards.

–The 34th Interceptor Longsword Team will be ready to be deployed at any moment.– says General Salazar.

–In brief Hell hounds your mission is to protect the island at all cost until we finish exacting all the Forerunner artifacts. I´m clear? – says Admiral Richards.
–Yes, sir– says all the Spartans while salutes.

–Excellent, you may leave now. The Operation: IXAZALUOH will start in 15 minutes.– says Admiral Richards.

The Spartans leave the war room, while the commanders prepare the last details of the operation.

2.1 Skyfire

Location: Hangar A058. HIGHCOM Facility Delta-5.

Most of the aircraftS of Delta-5 are supporting and defending high-value cities across the URNA. The Hell hounds check their equipment next to their assignated Pelican.

Daniel-601 equipment: BR55HB SR Battle Rifle, a custom M6C with extended magazine and silencer, 3 frag grenades and his custom combat knife.

Anthony-602 equipment: M392 Designated Marksman Rifle, two M7/Caseless Sub machine Guns, 5 frag grenades and a combat knife.

Rebecca-603 equipment: SRS99C-S2 AMB Sniper Rifle, MA5K Carbine, 3 frag grenades and a combat knife.

Sebastien-604 equipment: MA2B Assault Rifle with custom extended magazine, MA5C Assault Rifle, 3 frag grenades and a combat knife.

The Lieutenant General Melendez arrives to the hangar and walks toward the Spartans.

–Spartans, one of my Shock Troopers platoon will be available in case things goes really bad use this.– says Lieutenant General Melendez while offers the emergency signal device to Rebecca.

–An emergency signal device?– ask Rebecca.

–Yes, will drop directly to the base 4 squads of Shock Troopers directly from the UNSC War in Heaven.– responds Lieutenant General Melendez.

–Thanks Lieutenant.– says Rebecca while salutes.

–Good luck, Spartans.– says Lieutenant General Melendez.

Lieutenant General Melendez walks away while the pilots get inside the Pelican. Suddenly the facility alarm its on.

Speakers voice: Several bugies approaching to the base, all personnel to defense positions, this is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill.

Background voice: You hear him, move! Move!

Background voice 2: Prepare the anti-air guns, now!

–Looks like will be a tough trip.– says the Pilot Dylan Grissom quite happy.
–Finally something interesting. Ready Spartans?– says Pilot Jessica Rodriguez.
–Yes!– responds Daniel while he walks in.

–Any escort or support?– asks Sebastien.

–Of course! Just look.– says Pilot Rodriguez while pointing to runaway.
Three Falcons fighters are launched.

–We know the pilots, its matter of minutes until eliminate all the Covenant bugies.– says Pilot Grissom.

While the other 3 Spartans get inside the Pelican, other 3 Falcon fighters are launched. Rodriguez opens a radio channel and listen the progress of the Falcons fighters.

Controller 1: Falcon 3 destroyed the target.

Controller 3: Anti-air guns take down two vehicles.

Controller 4: Only five left. I repeat only five left.

Controller 2: Falcon 1 and 2 destroyed 3 targets.

Controller 2: Only two left.

–Got you!– says the Falcon fighter pilot Kyle Jameson.

Controller 1: The anti.air gun 08 take down the last enemy, the sky is clear. I repeat the sky is clear.

Grissom and Rodriguez put their helmet and turn on the Pelican.

–Time to go.– says Pilot Rodriguez

Controller 2: Hawk Three you can take off.

–Copy that controller.– responds Pilot Rodriguez.

The Spartans take seat and buckle their safety belts.

–This is Hawk Three, we are leaving the hangar, I repeat we are leaving the hangar.– says Pilot Grissom.

Controller 1: Copy that and good luck.

The Pelican slowly goes out the hangar and take off, escorted by 4 Falcon fighters.

Skyfire

Falcon (Fighter)

Location: Yucatan, Mexico. United Republic of North America. (30 miles away from Nuvo Kukulkan)

The Pelican radar detects an anomaly and triggers and alert.
–Oh, oh!– says Pilot Rodriguez.

This call the attention of the Spartans, so Daniel stand up walks toward the cockpit and check.

–What happend?– asks Daniel.

–Bugies, a lot of bugies.– responds Grissom quite worried.

–I´ll confirm.– says Pilot Rodriguez while contact the Falcons.

–Falcons, you see that?– asks Pilot Rodriguez to the pilots.

–Yes, but I don’t see them.– says the pilot of the Falcon 3.

–Me neither.– responds says the pilot of the Falcon 1.

Suddenly a plasma round passes the cockpit of Falcon 2 from above by just two feet.
–Oh sh…!– screams the pilot of the Falcon 2.

–Above us, above us!– says the copilot of the Falcon 2.

–Banshees!– says the pilot of the Falcon 4.

–Evasive maneuvers and split, now!– orders the pilot of the Falcon 1.

The four Falcons and the Pelican split and avoid the incoming Banshees.

Over 30 Banshees attempt to take down the human vehicles. Three Banshees are hunting Falcon 2.

–Behind us!– says the copilot of the Falcon 2.

–EMP mine, now!– orders the pilot of the Falcon 2.

–EMP mine, out!– says the copilot of the Falcon 2.

The Falcon drops a missile looking device that detonates a powerful EMP blast near the 5 Banshees, this blast its so powerful that the Covenant vehicles cant recover and finally crash.

Falcon 3 destroys two Banshees while being chased by other four more. Suddenly from a vertical angle Falcon 4 shots several missiles and eliminate all the Banshees.

This actions calls the attention of a dozen Banshees that coordinate an attack directly over that aircraft.

–10, 11, 12, 13… all over us!– says the copilot of the Falcon 4.

The Falcon 4 its receiving serious damage.

–All EMP mines, quick!– orders the pilot of the Falcon 4.

–All out.– says the copilot of the Falcon 4.

The fighters release six EMP mines. One of it penetrate the hull of a Banshee make it explode but the EMP doesnt detonate, other EMP mines detonate too far from the chasing aircrafts and finally 2 detonate, one at the end of the group taking down three Bashees while the other detonates far from the group but cripples four Banshees.

With only three Banshees left, one of the vehicles quit the pursuit. The Falcon is taking too much damage and several areas of the fighter are now on fire.
–Here we go!– says Pilot Rodriguez.

Hawk Three despite being slower than the Falcons use it chain gun in attempt to save Falcon 4.

–We cant hold on for much!– screams the copilot of the Falcon 4.

–What is that?– says the confused pilot of the Falcon 4.

One of the Banshees decide to go suicidal, use the boost and goes so fast that the pilots doesn’t have a chance to react. The Banshee destroyed the Falcon while the debris hits the chasing Banshees and the Pelican.

–Nooo!– screams the Pilot Rodriguez.

Rodriguez keeps shooting and take down the remaining Banshees.

–No, no, no! Kyle is dead…– whispers Pilot Grissom.

Rodriguez drop the control and start crying. Grissom take the control and stabilize the Pelican.

–Kyle, Kyle, Kyle!– says Rodriguez while crying.

–We lost Falcon 4!– says the pilot of the Falcon 2.

–Fu…– curses the pilot of the Falcon 3.

–No, no! Eliminate them all!– orders the pilot of the Falcon 1.

All the remaining Falcons change their strategy and eliminate all the Banshees. in matter of minutes. Inside the Pelican the situation gets worst.

–I can handle this.– says Pilot Grissom.

Rodriguez tries to recover but cant hold her feelings. She stand up, Daniel backs off and let her pass. Rebecca stand ups and takes a seat next to Rodriguez.
–Anthony help Grissom, now!– orders Daniel.

Anthony quickly understand the command and goes to the cockpit.

–You too Sebastien, come here!– orders Daniel.

Sebastien just watch Rebecca trying to comfort Rodriguez.

–We are clear, I repeat we are clear.– says pilot of the Falcon 2.

–Yes, but we lost Kyle and Cameron.– responds copilot of the Falcon 3
–Lets finish this mission for them.– says pilot of the Falcon 1.

–Yes, sir.– responds the pilots and copilots of the other Falcons.

All the Falcons fighters go back to formation.

–Falcons, this is Grissom. We lost two great pilots but Rodriguez needs sometime.–
–We know, we are going to go on silent mode, over.– responds the pilot of the Falcon 1.

–Thanks, Davis. Over.– says Pilot Grissom.

Daniel, Anthony and Sebastien are a little bit confused about the situation.

–Kyle Carr was Jessica´s fiancee.– says Pilot Grissom in a very low voice.
–Oh…– says Daniel.

Sebastien and Anthony cant responds.

–The wedding was planned for December, now with this war and Kyle dead. I just don’t know what would be of Jessica.– says Pilot Grissom.

Rebecca despite being a Spartan cant hold her feelings and tries to comfort Jessica during before arriving to Nuevo Kukulkan.
