Now I’m sure all of you are aware of the classic Halo 2 back flip that your spartan did when they were shot in the head by a sniper rifle or battle rifle. When that spartan got lifted off in a backwards motion as if someone kicked them in the head with a soccer ball. With the new titles that came out for example Halo 3, ODST, and Reach that animation has been lost or reduced to a minor fall. I realize that Reach has a slight animation of a flip when shot in the head, but it’s only from the side and more of a kart wheel. I realize this is extremely minor and I’m not asking anything from 343, but what I’ve seen from the gameplay videos is there is no such animation, but instead something similar to Reach. It made getting a headshot that much more enjoyable and also just gave anyone who got a headshot on someone a sense that they were bad Yoink! I’m just wondering if the community still misses that animation and if they think it will possibly make a return in Halo 4?

Meh i don’t mind it returning. Tho to be honest i really don’t care for the death animations either, once i’ve killed someone i just move on.
I think they should at least add it to sniper kills
The good ol headshot backflip. Maby they can bring it back, but instead it only occurs with a snipe to the head, because I dont think a pistol has enough power to do that.

I think it would be cool if that returned. Not every time, just rarely enough.
Of course! Maybe only for the sniper rifles though cause like Halo300Spartan said that would seem like the only gun powerful enough to do it from a shot to the head. I mean you could probably pull it off with the spartan laser or railgun, but I’m pretty sure that would just obliterate their body. Who knows maybe the new forerunner sniper could have such an animation. Fingers crossed!
