Halo Armour: Useless and expensive again?

In this game is the armour going to make a difference when you purchase it or is it just another way to make people play more to get CR to buy them to unlock an achievement?

It would be really great if I actually got to carry more ammo/grenades since I am visually carrying more than I can shoot off in a game. I am a sniper, 4 bullets just doesn’t cut it in a 4 second span; if my armour shows me carrying another 10 why can’t I use them?

Just venting my disapointment in Reach and hoping this will be corrected in the next game.

It’s called aestethic.

STOP complaining about any Halo things. Please.

There are support and tactical packages that allow players to change up the way their Spartans play. However, the armor piece do not affect gameplay.

Oh hi there Iron/Recruit member.

The reason why they didn’t do that in Halo: Reach is because they wanted to retain some sort of balance as opposed to CoD’s OP sniper rifles and other one-hit kill weapons as primaries.

And more grenades? You serious?

I HOPE they are useless.

(If aestethics are useless)

You don’t use currency to buy armour at all.

A New member making a hate/stupid thread? Never seen this before…

This. You unlock armour through achievements, commendations, challenges etc.

Yes, they’re useless, (aestethics are useless); hitboxes matter in a combat. (maybe aestethics can trick your eyes).

No offense but this thread literally made me throw up in my mouth.

Seriously?

My reaction as I read this thread…

Armor is Aesthetics. They do nothing.

You should look more into the Tactical Packages and Support Packages. Those are the ones that can slightly change the way things work, such as the Ammo support package that allows you to hold more ammo in your pockets, or the AA efficiency that allows you to use your AA for much longer or to use more than 1 time before needing to recharge.

That was discussed at the San Diego ComicCon this year in their discussion panels. You can look them up on Youtube.

> Some of the rarest armor sets and components can only be received upon completion of specific in-game Commendations, Challenges, or other Waypoint goals.

Click on “Halo Evolved” and scroll down to the armor customization part.

It doesn’t really confirm much, only that you can unlock some through challanges and stuff.

There’s always the possibility that you have to buy them, but seeing as you have to buy weapons, armour abilities and armour mods with your Spartan Points it doesn’t leave much money left to make your Spartan look cool. I think that we’ll just unlock them in the same way we did in Halo 3.

Actually 343 stated that armor would be unlocked through rank they never mentioned anything else.
