Do you think that it would be possible in the future to include a weathered/grimy option for our armour in Halo 4/5, in Reach the armour looked weathered which suited the game very well and in 4 the armour looks brand new, which I guess it is but I think an option for this would be great.
I got a little confused on what you wrote, OP. However, if you are referring to Armor Effects, like Blue/Orange Flame helmet, Birthday Party, Heart Attack, Pestilence, & Inclement Weather, then I have to say “Maybe”. I loved Armor Effects, myself especially the Inclement and Blue, but it gets annoying sometimes. If it were to appear in the next title…I would be surprised.
I think the weathered look has to do with the overall style of the graphics and game. If the game returns to that weathered look then maybe the Spartans will look like that as well. But it should all flow and match together. Having the Spartans in the colour they are now and then changing it to Reach grimy look wouldn’t aesthetically work.
Not really on topic but I think Halo 3 had the armor the best. You knew exactly what armor piece someone was wearing whereas in Halo 4 you can’t tell any of them apart. (Excluding the helmets)

I don’t think OP’s talking about Armor Effects like the ones from Reach, I think he’s talking about how the armor looks. For example, Halo 3’s armor looked new but slightly beaten. Halo: Reach’s armor looked like it had seen some rough times and Halo 4’s armor looks brand new with little to no scratches or signs of battle.
What DSight said, the game was designed to have a darker tone like ODST. My main problem with 4 graphics is that everything looks shiny and new. Even things like Forerunner structure (which in old games looked alot more dilapidated).
Reachs art style was the best IMO since it gave of the fact that the spartans were soldiers and the equipment made a lot of people in multiplayer look nearly unique, plus it looked cool having an ammo pouch on your belt etc.
Halo 4 armour style is good but the body armour simply looks like its a bullet proof vest worn loosely (the arm joints are really open) and it kind of looks like they are toy soldier heroes (on the odd occasion)

Oh okay…it was pretty confusing at first cuz he mentioned weather. Now that you mentioned armor with scratches, beaten, etc. then that would be great to have.
