Hi there,
I am trying to play the Co-op campaign in Halo Anniversary via system-link. The problem is that neither console can be recognized by the other. Using the Halo Anniversary disc, I CAN system-link in the Reach multiplayer mode. It works just fine. But during the campaign it will simply not recognize that a system-link has been established between two consoles.
I’ve searched and this has been a persisting problem for some time now. If anybody has a solution or knows if 343 or Microsoft or working on one I would be grateful for your help.
So you press Y in the campaign menu to bring up networks, are able to select system link and it does not acknowledge that the two are linked?
Are both consoles up to date?
Yes. It works for every other Halo game, but in Halo Anniversary it simply does not recognize the other console. Both consoles are up to date and work flawlessly otherwise. A Google search reveals that other users have been experiencing the same problem.

After doing some digging around, unfortunately this sounds like this is a job for Xbox Live Support to look into.
Do reccommend trying to install the games/using different versions of the discs but ultimately you’ll want to go talk with them if the issue continues.
