Halo Anniversary PC Edition

Well, I don’t know why it’s difficult finding info about this because it just makes sense. So where is Anniversary PC?

It only makes sense to release Anniversary on PC at this point. It’s time, by god. I can understand not releasing a PC version of Halo 4. You gotta push Xbox sales. Halo Anniversary is different. It’s a remake of the original game (and a fantastic one at that). Who ever has an interest in Halo Anniversary has already purchased it, long before now.

A PC version would make so many fans happy that love to game on the PC, like myself. I already own Anniversary for my Xbox, but I would GLADLY pay for it again for my PC, and I’m sure many people feel the same way. This would also rake in a ton of extra cash for MS and Devs.

So, who is for it? And why hasn’t it happened? I SAY, XMAS 2013 RELEASE.

“It’s time, by god”!!!

I second that! Yes indeed, it is certainly time for the PC version of Halo Anniversary and I’ve been wondering myself why I’ve heard absolutely nothing about it.

I’d like to see 343 Industries make a public announcement on this very important issue. They should update us asap on when we might see a PC version of Halo Anniversary.

I also own the XBox version but would gladly get the new Anniversary PC edition.

Btw, I still play the old original Halo online on PC too. It is time for the PC version of Halo Anniversary!!!

I still play Halo PC too! Almost every weekend. Come on guys, we need a PC version of Anniversary.

Well, I hate to say this, but Halo PC is slowly dying out, IMO. Although, I really am not sure if 343 has any plans on releasing H:CEA on PC.

It hasn’t died out at all for anybody I know - many of my friends still play it and 343 mentioned in 2011 to keep an eye out for the new PC version.

I’ve never heard anybody complain about Halo before so, what’s a list of problems with the game and the platform? What are the best games/platforms out right now and why - what makes them so great?

I still play Halo PC version because it’s still MORE FUN than many new games I’ve played. I like being able to quickly get into a game, play hard & have fun and get out when I’m done. I’ve had loads of trouble with new games that make it far to complex and complicated just trying to login, get set-up and get the damn game started - so i never play them.

Now, I can understand why people wouldn’t want the 10 year old Halo platform but, that’s not what I’m talking about - I’m talking about a new platform for an older game to improve game play and performance with many improvements. I don’t see how anybody could turn that down - the anti-Halo peeps don’t need to ruin for everybody else though.

New Halo PC version suggestions:

  1. No team killing or betraying. It would be nice if that were no longer an issue. I’ve been banned just for accidents.

  2. It would be great if we could still use weapons/grenades while holding the flag in CTF.

  3. In the PC version - please stop repeatedly respawning in the worst possible areas only to die immediately like 10 times in a row. Or at least give 5 seconds of invincibility.

  4. Would like to have more than just two weapons at a time.

  5. Remove the dumb “suicide” thing and make weapons go right through teammates instead of killing me and calling it suicide.

  6. Please improve the handling of the vehicles.

  7. Please include a sprint function.

  8. Make it compatible on the XBox controller.

Could PC get Halo: CE Anniversary?

Here is a thread with some Halo criticism:

The main reason Halo: Anniversary wasn’t released on the PC was because it was celebrating ten years of Halo on the Xbox platform, not PC.

They’d also have to make Halo: Reach work on the PC for the multiplayer portion of the game, which would take you down a road of technical issues as well.

> “The main reason Halo: Anniversary wasn’t released on the PC was because it was celebrating ten years of Halo on the Xbox platform, not PC.”

I get that but, that was nearly 2 years ago and there’s still only one Halo game for PC, the 10 year old original. So, it’s simply time for 343 Industries to come out with a new Halo for PC - whether it’s an updated platform version of the original (preferred) or Halo 4 or Reach - it’s time for a new Halo game for PC.

I would like to hear 343 Industries make a public announcement on this issue.

Halo 2 PC is still around.

> Halo 2 PC is still around.

Well, not really:

Halo 2 PC version is from 2007 and “is exclusively for Windows Vista”

Wiki says: “In January 2013, it was reported that the PC multiplayer servers would be taken offline on February 15, 2013 due to inactivity.”

It works on Vista and all future operating systems like Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Halo 2 PC never got shut down on February 15th, thanks to bs angel, it was extended for a while, and when the time comes to ‘close it down’ again, they will look at all possibilities to keep the game going again.

See, not a very good argument, obviously, as hardly anybody cares about Halo 2, which is now several years old too.

It’s time for a new Halo geared for PC. If 343 won’t do the Anniversary then maybe they’ll at least make a Halo 4 PC version.

How about…maybe.
However, even if it was to be released, thats still several years down the road, what with converting the MP servers, making firefight,…its’ a lot of work.

Being a PC player myself, I can say that one of the reasons it is ‘dying out’, and I can certainly say that for Halo 2 but not Halo Custom Edition, is that we are still running on 10 year old games!, as good as these games are, when it comes down to it, we need an upgrade.

A PC version with an updated MP would be fantastic, a great way to reignite the player base. Just need to implement the no-lead lag fix that’s already running on some of the custom edition servers, along with the gfx upgrade of course, and the multiplayer will be all set.

Funny btw, how they said a stable version of the original MP is not possible / too hard to do for CEA, and then the mod community comes along with a very simple patch to fix the lag issue altogether.

For shame…

I think it was more to do with the time constraints they had for the Xbox version of the game.

How about a halo PC anniversary map pack where the rest of the maps which were left out of halo anniversary get their time in the spotlight… ESPECIALLY the rest of the PC exclusive maps!

Way too late for something like that.

True… One can hope though…
