Halo: Anniversary Multiplayer Question

A quick question about the classic maps for Halo: Anniversary. Will there be some way to install all my Reach maps to the HDD so I’ll never have to touch my Reach disc again?

Basically, I’m wondering if I can access the full multiplayer experience off the Anniversary disc.

> I know buying Halo: Anniversary will not give me access to the maps, I just want to know if I can still play the maps I already own off the Anniversary disc.

What’s wrong with Reach?

> What’s wrong with Reach?

It doesn’t have Halo 1 campaign attached to it…

True, true. I think if you have both games installed on your console you could do it.

I hope so. I’m too lazy to switch discs just for multiplayer and campaign. This is what made ODST annoying and eventually broke me down into buying Mythic Map Pack 2 for my campaign disc.

if u saw the leaked pic of the menu Reach’s multiplayer is straight off the CEA disc

My initial guess is no. H:CEA only contains the 7 new multiplayer maps. Unless you can find some way to download all of the Reach maps (even the shipped ones) to your console and then get H:CEA to recognize and read them, I’m thinking it’s not possible. It looks like there are two options: If you own Reach (with or without the DLC), you can use your Reach disc to play all of the multiplayer maps (including the new H:CEA ones). If you don’t own Reach, you can use the H:CEA disc to launch your multiplayer experience consisting of just the 7 new maps.

But as I’ve said, I could be wrong–it’s not explicitly clear.

I’ve read it already. I was just wondering if there would be some way for me to play my Reach maps off Halo: Anniversary. I own both the games. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind purchasing the default maps just to switch over to the Anniversary disc. I draw the line at the DLC though, they should still be readable by Halo: Anniversary.

If you have CEA you will ONLY be able to play the 7 maps on matchmaking. If you have Reach you will get to play ALL of Halo Reach’s maps plus the CEA maps.

I know, I’m wondering if I own both can I play them off the Anniversary disc?

Why can’t people read the original post…

You can play both MP’s on the Reach disk if you have it. There has been no mention of playing all the MP maps on the Anniversary Disk.

Actually in the Sparkast it said NO you will onlu be able to play the 7 maps on the Anniversary disk.

That is incorrect. You will be given a code to download the new maps if you wish so that you can play them on your
Halo :Reach Disk.

How am i wrong?

> This will be one retail disc, 39.99, everything launches out of one menu. It’s kind of like a one-disc ODST - obviously it doesn’t have the other DLC, because most people who buy this are going to have Reach already.

You are wrong because you stated that you will only be able to play the new HCEA maps on that disk. That is incorrect. Starting at 26:40 of the Sparkast they clearly state that you will be able to Download the new maps onto your Reach disk for a seamless MP experience. You can still play just the 7 new maps on the HCEA Disk if you like or if you do not own Reach. I’m not trying to be a pain just want to be clear.

Oh i see what you mean you didnt read the post before the one you quoted. I was answering the guys question about playing all of Reachs maps in the Anniversary disk. I know you can play them off of Reach the sparkast said you will download a contents pack.

Also you said

> There has been no mention of playing all the MP maps on the Anniversary Disk.

Which to i answered you will only be able to play the 7 maps in the Anniversary disk.

You didn’t answer the question I asked. Nevermind, forget it. I’ll find out when the game releases.

As of RIGHT NOW the answer is NO.

While the answer to my actual question is probably no, there is no official word saying it is yes or no.

In the Sparkast they say the best way to play the current Reach maps?? Buy Reach. Like I said this is for right now maybe one day they will let you DL them to HCEA but as of right now they state flat out if you wanna play the current Reach Maps. You gotta buy Reach.
