Halo: Anniversary be able to play on Standard TVs?

I sadly cannot afford an HDTV at the moment but I do have about a 20 in. standard television :frowning: I was just wondering if Halo: Anniversary will still be able to play on my tv without decreasing my game experience by cutting off edges of the gameplay seeing as though it will be made in high definition. Anybody else have a crappy tv like me and are wondering the same thing?

Don’t worry. I have3 TV’s! 2 HD TV’s and one Standard. It doesn’t have any Major changes. So, No. It’s A OK with Standard TV’s

Of course, why would they not support one but not the other? That’s like saying “Hey get an HD screen or you can’t play our game herp derp”.

Don’t worry, standard tvs will work fine. Just having a higher quality TV makes everything look better. The game still plays the same, which is a good thing.

Alright cool I was just wondering because sometimes when I play a game on my standard tv, the sides of the gameplay is cut short. Like when I play Halo: Reach, when you play it on an HDTV, you can see the butt of the rifle on all of the weapons but when played on a standard, the image is cut off so the whole gun is not really shown, if that makes any sense.

Well, it’s part of the adapt to less-panoramic resolutions. Sometimes the gun and HUD dimensions are distorsioned till a point, and then all the image is cutted to provent it from losing its properly look (like displaying circles like ovals).

Since Halo CEA is published by Microsoft it will be totally compatible with Xbox resolutions, so I don’t think this will happen.

Sweet thanks man! That really helped.

It will just be really bad quality I guess.

Eh that doesn’t really bother me. I still play Halo: Reach a lot on that tv and it looks pretty decent.
