Two major problems with this title. Six of my friends and I went and got this at midnight. 10 years ago we played halo for over 6 months straight at house with two tvs upstairs connected to two tvs downstairs connected with a hub, 16 player halo action was going on all hours of the day and night. Literally that is all we did for 6 months. People failed out of school (or at least a semester in my case), lost jobs, girlfriends. We are Halo fans, the people this title is obviously supposed to be for since it was not marketed at all (that is the second issue).
We were utterly disappointed in every way shape and fashion. Then why on earth can anyone tell me why SIDEWINDER (the board we played on 98% of the time) and BLOOD GULCH the two boards that made up 99 percent of everyone’s time who played this game are not included? That is like having a Resident Evil remake but not having the mansion!! All they had to do was port the PC version of Halo’s multiplayer, that is all any Halo fan has ever wanted since Halo one. We knew going into it that it was going to have bits of Reachs mutliplayer and right away we were disappointed but thought at least we would turn off as much of it as we could and enjoy Halo ones multiplayer maps.
Secondly even though I am utterly disappointed in the final product as a halo fan I still think the single player campaign alone updated needed more love, attention and MARKETING. The only thing I see about the biggest videogame franchises relaunch is on xbox dashboard? how come Ocaraina of time is 15 years old looks like a n64 game is on covers of magazines getting 9.5s and game of the month and commercials when Halo comes out and I hear nothing? Why don’t I have 15 players on my friends list to play the legendary single player campaign with? Besides my friends that I had to call up and coerce into buying the game (which they all want me to reimburse them for now since the multiplayer was non existent sorry headlong doesnt count as halo one multiplayer) not ONE person on my 100 person friends list put in the game or Halo Reach all last night or today. Why did i have to call everyone of my friends who played Halo for over 6 months straight of their lives and no one knew the game was coming out or anything about it?
If you marketed this game right it could have outsold the original Halo instead because you marketed it to NO ONE, the only people who picked it up are Halo fanboys like myself and my friends that are then utterly disappointed because you did not remake half of the equation that made Halo the phenomenon that it is today. Hence Epic failure.

Dude, Blood Gulch has been remade - twice, and for the last Halo game. Sidewinder was remade for Halo 3.
Dude have you been living under a rock for the past 6 months? Everything that wasn’t included and is -Yoink!- you off was NEVER said to be included. It’s really not a hard concept to grasp; an HD Campaign, and new additions to the Reach multiplayer system.

It’s not their fault you bought a product blindly. It’s been well advertised that there would be a Halo 2 map in the game, and sidewinder and blood gulch were already recently remade.
If your friends are asking you to pay them for a purchase THEY made, you need to find new friends. That’s on them. You may have encouraged them to get the game, but the decision ultimately lay with them. They need to take responsibility for their actions.
I’ve seen ads EVERYWHERE for this game. Websites, newsletters, newspapers, magazines. EVERYWHERE. I’m surprised you managed to avoid them. It’s possible that your region was not a focus for marketing (not sure where you live) and that’s why you missed the ads.
Having begun my playthrough, I can say that I believe you are absolutely and unequivocally wrong about the game needing more love. Sure, they could have remade the whole game from scratch, but that leaves a smaller legacy for the original. This product strikes a unique balance between being reverent and fresh. I’d also like to point out that your comment about Ocarina of Time being the exact same game as the N64 version is incorrect.
why remake a halo 2 map when they could have remade chill out a very very popular map during the popularity of halo ce on xbconnect, derelict, rat race and wizard should have came back as well, or at least forge them like in the classic reach playlist, DOWN WITH BLOOM!!
your right it hasnt been undermarketed, it hasnt been marketed at all, xbox dashboard is nothing. I have 100 friends none of them got halo or are playing it. Even ODST which wasnt a full fledged halo game got way more attention and love than this game.
Secondly I don’t care how many times a map has been redone in a anniversary edition you put the originals in. Besides there are no reason any maps should have been excluded because they are too close to the original already in Reach and then they arent even put on the disc for people who bought anniversary edition to play. Any map that was already a rehash in Reach should have been included on the disc to play. ODST at least had all the maps to halo 3 multiplayer the anniversary edition only has the -Yoink- maps from halo no one ever liked excluding hang em high
