Halo really is a fantastic game but there are some big reasons as to why many newer players have difficulty getting into halo. These are easy to fix and hopefully H5 will learn the right ways to bring new people into the fold.
Training mode - Halo is not as pick up and play friendly as COD. Grendade placement, strafing, crouch shooting, basic strategy, explanations of when it is best to use weapons, all should be taught the same way fighter games have training. I really think this would be a great way for the MLG community to contribute to H5.
Wiki article level/type CGI summation of the events covered from Harvest to the Novels. What H4 did really well was the CGI prologue. But the Halo story is so deep and long that many players that may start with halo, may have difficulty getting into the story. Story is one of the few things Halo clearly has superior to COD. It should flex that muscle.
STRICT STRICT STRICT matchmaking for newer players. Halo 3 and 2 had training playlists available to new players. Something like this should be implimented alogn with stricter measures to ensure its beginner vs beginner.
There is a steep learning curve ahead of every newbie. It can’t be helped. I liked the training matches in previous Halo’s too but that was until it became popular to roll new accounts for the sole purpose of griefing the trainees.
Friends and practice are the only real cures for this. If it isn’t fun, nobody will want to play and the only known way to offset the pains of learning how to FPS Halo is with some teamwork.
Playing customs is much more beneficial than a training list lol. Customs are the best way to improve, and warm up your DMR/BR and sniper before going into a playlist, they also are good for working on everything…No training mode is needed when its already there

Fighters help the beginners via a training mode. CLearly it can be helped.
The training list is fine as well. Just make it so that if you get a certain KD that list closes for you. Or you can make it so that everyone is invincible but has a health bar that regens liek normal. Every time you would normally die the point just goes to whoever killed you but you are still playing and never respawn.
I am basically saying this because I had some family play who were not exposed to Halo before play on their accounts. They got frustrated due to constant dieing and playing players who were much better than they. Its really hurting the franchise IMO.

I am not talking about warming up bro.
I am talking about the person who doesnt know much about halo or have friends who play it and then decide to pick it up and try it out. Checkers (COD) is fun to many beginners because it is so easy to play. Chess (Halo) is also fun to play but how fun is it if you dont know how the pieces are supposed to move?
Not everyone has extra people to load up customs with.
